I’ve had saggy boobs for as long as I can remember, but pregnancy and breast feeding took my sagginess to a whole new level.
I have finally taken the plunge, thanks in part to the many women on this site who have shared their experiences and given me the confidence to go for it!
I had my surgery yesterday and so far, m feeling pretty happy :)

I am really interested in following your recovery. Congratulations on following your heart. I am scheduled to do what you did, but I am so afraid of recovery time and not liking my scars. I have some odd insecurities about what will be afterwards. Please continue to keep us all posted and I wish you the best recovery possible - prayers to you!

How wonderful for you. I am 51 and having a tummy tuck and now contemplating breast corr cation and lift. Only have small boobs to start with. You look fabulous

Thank you :) Good luck with your surgery!

I too had mastopexy at 50 after many years of thinking about it. I could write an essay about the way I felt about my very saggy breasts (grade 3 ptosis) I’m now 5 weeks post op and doing really well. Absolutely no regrets about it. The only thing that put me off having this done was the fact that I was very lucky to have gotten to 50 years of age without ever having a general anaesthetic. I researched my plastic surgeon beforehand and chose one that was highly recommended not to mention highly qualified and with excellent after care. Take it easy and rest up

Hi! Just read your message. Hope you’re recovery is still going well. Like you, I’d never had a GA either and felt the same anxiety about it as you did. Luckily, I had no problems whatsoever. In fact it was probably the best sleep I’d had in a very long time!! My healing is great but I’m dying to get out for a run as soon as I’m allowed!!

Your breasts were beautiful pre-op, but they do look nice and full now. Congrats!! I’m a 36C and even tho I have dense tissue, they weren’t compact. When I gain weight and get to 36D, they just hang like a cow. But I’m stable at a 36C, and wondering if I would lose a cup size? It sounds like you did, if I read it right. Do you lose cup sizes with this? They look beautiful, girlfriend! Happy 50th Birthday!!!! (I’m 3 yrs behind). xx

Hi there :). Haha!! Love your description!! To be honest, I’m not sure what size I’m going to end up being - I’ll have to wait for the bruising and swelling to completely resolve. I started out DD, am thinking I’ll end up D. There was a lot of excess loose skin that was removed, so I guess it wouldn’t be unusual for women to end up with a slightly smaller cup size from this procedure. At the moment I’m still wearing soft, stretchy, unstructured crop-top type of bras so there’s no cup size to choose from. Have you been to see any surgeons yet? X

Your breasts are beautiful as they were! What lift did you go with and why? And also why no implant to make the top more full?
October 19, 2017
Hi - thanks for the compliment - but I certainly didn’t feel that way about them! Great questions, complicated answers. I’ll try to be brief. I have fibrocystic Breasts. This means they are painful pretty much all of the time, but especially when I’m not wearing a bra. I’m also a runner. So even when I’m wearing the most robust sports bra, my pendulous breasts bounce around and hurt even more. This surgery was less about having perky 20 year old breasts and more about having firm, comfortable breasts that are held closer to my chest wall, creating less bounce and less overhang. I had the full anchor lift. I guess time will tell if I end up with the result I’m after!

Why didn’t they suggest a lollipop lift?
October 19, 2017
No lollipop because I had far too much excess skin under my breasts. I’m not sure if the photos show the reality of my ‘overhang’ but to give you an idea, I could easily hold a full can of soft drink under each one

Day 1 post op

Pretty happy with what I can see so far. I’m swollen and heavily taped so I know my new boobs won’t exactly sit like this once they’ve completely healed. I just hope they don’t drop and flatten out too much!
Pain is really quite minimal. Have been taking panadol 4 times a day which seems sufficient. I’m one of those ‘can’t sit still’ kind of people so having a tinge of pain is a good thing as it will remind me to limit my activity. I’d hate to jeopardize my healing by doing too much!
