I am very happy with this procedure and with Dr. Kortesis. Ive barely had a full look, but i can tell its amazing. I really wanted to share my pictures and recovery as an African American women because it was very hard to find before and after pics for black women. In addition, it was also harder to find mastopexy pics without implants.
Recovery is smooth. Side effects from anesthesia seems to be the worst part of it - nausea, grogginesd, etc. Axilla area is more sore and painful from liposuction. That being said, I love it and I'm glad I didn't see too many pics before hand. The real thing was an awesome surprise.

Looking good! I had the same procedures done about 10 days ago. Are you using compression on your armpits? I was told to keep it on for 24hrs only but now notice the skin is kind of loose. I hope it will improve.

Good luck on your recovery. Honestly, the armpit lipo was at the recommendation of my surgeon to compliment the breast lift. I kinda wish I hadn't at this point. It's much more painful than I anticipated, although I'm sure I'll be happy with the end results. I was told that it can take up to 6 months for the skin to adjust. But there are things that can be done to smooth it out. Ask your doctor. I figure it's kind of hard to compress under your arms.

I had help for the 1st day of my surgery. Most of that day I don't remember because I was asleep. I took it easy for the weekend following my Friday surgery. For the most part, I avoided any heavy lifting and didn't have much to do except warm up food and eat. I did a LOT of preparing knowing I wouldn't have much help. Both upstairs and downstairs were prepared with pillows, blankets, juice and trash cans (for nausea) before hand.

I am not using compression. In fact, the first week, the lipo was pretty numb and swollen. I thought it was just the fat still being there. Lol. Until my first follow-up visit. My doctor provides lymphatic massage free of charge. It didn't hurt, but she explained how swollen I was and that no, there's no fat there. It's been sucked out. That evening, after the massage, I was in so much pain. Took my pain meds and went to sleep. The swelling went down by at least half. Now, I have tenderness and swelling on Day 10 but not nearly as much as before the massage. The nurse said to expect 6 weeks of up and down swelling before it subsides.
