Dr Hoffman had me believe below but Hoffman was mistaken

Frustrated

I had my implants done by Tholen and should have had a lift but was never recommended I get one.
I woke from surgery with over 100Ccs larger than I’d agreed on and I had activation because he didn’t correctly clip my pec muscle and I had a double bubble. When I went into him TWICE he never acted like it was a big deal.
Now I’ve had them reconstructed (4 hours by another surgeon-Dr Jim Hoffman -amazing)) with a newpocket to correct the double bubble as well as the pec correction but now I most likely have to have my nipples lifted because of the initial wreck at Tholen’s. Super unhappy!

First of all, I'm sorry you are unhappy, but especially if you felt I didn't think it was a "big deal." I always offer revision surgery at no surgeon's fee cost, and am not shy to offer it. I'm sad this was not made clear. In general, if you have ptosis and are borderline in need of a lift, all the incisions, scars, and $6-7 thousand more dollars are not desirable, IF slightly larger implants can fill the loose skin adequately. 100cc is just over 3 ounces, or just over 1/4th of a can of soda (360cc) . . . less than half a cup size, but 85% chance of avoiding the lift cost, scars, and higher risks. You chose that, and since no patient specifies an exact implant size, we did not "agree" on 100cc less. Although that sounds defensive, it is a true statement for all of my patients. I'm glad your second surgeon has been able to improve your results, but I do hope you do not develop capsular contracture with your above-muscle new pockets--well over 90% of plastic surgeons go below the muscle to minimize CC risk (30+% CC risk above the muscle; less than 10% below the muscle). We'll have to wait and see if you develop CC. Again, I'm sorry you were unhappy with my results, but every patient (and surgeon) has choices and compromises that each unique patient's anatomy and healing create. I do wish you would have let me correct your concerns (at less cost), but hope things work out for you going forward. Dr. Tholen
