Sports (bra) mode
Finally got the OK to switch to sports bras after a month of wearing the surgical bra. It's a little tight fitting into my old sports bras (M) but they still fit nonetheless! I'm not entirely sure if I'd feel comfortable working out in this bra at the gym anymore but maybe once my boobs fluff maybe they won't be as...out there? haha
1 month post op
1 month post op, still wearing my surgical bra. Starting weight lifting at the gym again this week. Range of motion is more or less the same pre op but I can definitely feel the implant during certain exercises haha
Breast Decision I Ever Made - Motiva Ergonomix
Growing up a 90s kid I was flooded with images from the media of Victoria Secret models with full, beautiful breasts. Throughout my teens and 20s I often found myself wondering why I didn’t look like them and hating my flat chest but as I got older I grew to appreciate my body and eventually became a proud member of the ITBC (IYKYK). Fast forward to today, I’m 32 and in South Korea getting breast implants haha. Last fall I made travel plans for Japan so I figured if I’m already going to be on this side of the world, and that this is something I’ve been wanting for more than half my life, now’s the time to go for it. And I’m so glad I did!
I’ve been researching breast implants on and off for years now and one thing that made South Korea stand out is their after care program. When I researched clinics in Los Angeles (where I live) I didn’t see any mention of aftercare programs. In addition to South Korean aftercare programs, South Korea is well known for its plastic surgery so it was a no-brainer getting my breast implants done here. South Korean clinics also offer Motiva implants, which are just now starting to rollout in the US due to getting recent FDA approval. Since I wanted a natural look/feel, Motiva implants were the breast choice for me. The implant is made to move with you when you stand up or lay down whereas round implants stay that shape the entire time regardless of what position you’re in. The exterior material of the Motiva implant is another reason why I decided to go with this implant because the material was created to reduce inflammation and chances of capsular contractures. So taking all these factors into consideration and the plastic surgeons in South Korea having more experience with this type of implant, I felt confident with my decision to get this procedure done in South Korea.
Now, the reason why I chose NANA Plastic Surgery specifically for my procedure was for several reasons. The most important being they have a dedicated English speaking team (shout out Jasmine, Jenny, and Jenna!) It was crucial for me to have an English speaking team throughout this entire process so I could clearly communicate my needs and concerns. Even though I consulted with various clinics I found the NANA team to be the most friendly and helpful. The next reason for choosing NANA was because they have a dedicated breast clinic. Their head surgeon has published several articles in medical journals and since the surgeon I was designated, Dr. Choi, studied under him I felt confident that he would achieve the results I was looking for without any complications. Another reason I chose NANA was because they don’t use stitches and can insert the implants through the armpit. A lot of clinics in South Korea offer incision through the armpit but not every clinic uses surgical glue to seal the wound. It was important for me to minimize scarring so going with a clinic that performed surgery without stitches and had experience inserting the implant through the armpit was vital.
The day of the consultation I met with Jasmine and Dr. Choi, my surgeon. My consultation was fairly quick because Jasmine and I already discussed the look I was going for. Dr. Choi was very nice and to the point, which I appreciated. He understood how my body was unique compared to other bodies and was realistic about how my implants would look different, but still natural, from some of the B&A photos I used as reference. We then selected two implants that would fit my body. I debated between a smaller implant that would make me a B cup (going from 34AA) or a C cup. At first when I tried the sizers on I thought the C implant was too big but Jasmine reminded me that after surgery it would appear smaller and keeping in mind “boob envy”, where women wish they’d gone for a bigger implant, I decided to go with the bigger implant and I’m glad I did!
The day of surgery everything went well and recovery has been very smooth. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Staff and surgeons at NANA are professional, highly recommend this clinic if you’re considering breast implants!
