Overcharged, stigmatized, humiliated & asymmetry wasn't fixed

Being a patient of Sumer Daiza was humiliating, degrading and disappointing. I was very comfortable in the months leading up to my breast implant surgery and felt confident in Sumer's expertise. However, the DAY before surgery during our phone-consultation she informed me I needed to get a doctor's statement saying I was fit for surgery. I had submitted blood tests, authorizations, etc. months before. I had a clean bill of health. The reasoning? I had chosen to discontinue anti-depressants months before with my doctor's support and approval. My GP and her staff were stunned that a surgeon would demand such a thing the day before surgery. I was at risk of loosing thousands of dollars for the surgical room payment, hotel room, time off, etc. Thankfully my GP and her staff were very responsive and provided a note in time for me to get surgery the next day. I lived several hours away, so we scheduled the post-op appointment the day after surgery. At the hotel room I got a call from Sumer's secretary saying she made a mistake in scheduling and I'd have to wait a few days to be seen. So I'd either have to spend hundreds of dollars for lodging or be driven (post-op!) for hours and hours. It was truly a horrendous experience and I hope no one else is treated how I was. The end result of my implants were decent, the asymmetry we discussed wasn't fixed, and the appropriate implant size wasn't put in. Very disappointing considering how expensive Daiza is compared to other surgeons in the area. But at least I didn't get an infection. Be careful who you choose, sometimes you don't get what you pay for. If you're considering Daiza, beware that the original quote you get is not the full amount and it doesn't include the surgical room/fees. I ended up getting a surprise bill months after.
