I had my breast implant removal surgery (explant surgery) with Dr Raine on 18th Feb 2023, and I haven't looked back. Dr Raine answered all my questions during the consultation, and really put my mind at rest prior to surgery.
I had my first implants back in 2002 by a different surgeon, and nine years later I discovered they were PIP implants. I had them
replaced in 2011 by a different surgeon, and many years later that I had the textured Allergan implants that are connected to BIA-ALCL. Now, I was lucky in that I didn't develop the condition - but decided there was no way I was risking another type of implant ever again. I have a health anxiety disorder, so having them explanted after 12 years was a no-brainer.
I did have a consultation with another surgeon prior to meeting Dr Raine, but found extremely poor reviews for him on this app. It prompted me to seek another surgeon, and I'm so glad I found Dr Raine! He was so kind to me, reassuring but also very honest. When my surgery day rolled around, I felt 100% sure I was doing the right thing. I was nervous, but Dr Raine very calmly put my worries into perspective.
The surgery itself was a success, the recovery was initially difficult due to pain. This was largely due to the fact I cannot tolerate strong pain medication, so was only on paracetamol! I am a very quick healer though, and six months on I am delighted with the results! No sagging, no crepey, loose skin which was my main worry. I was told this was as likely down to the fact that my implants were sub-pectoral and very small.
As I said, I am delighted with the results and so happy with my small and perky breasts that needed no other surgery/uplift etc. Dr Raine I fantastic, and I cannot recommend him highly enough!
