Where to start? Well, I got my BA around 2000 with another plastic surgeon here in Vegas. They were big and beautiful and I absolutely loved them initially. Then slowly but shirley my back started hurting constantly and began becoming debilitating. I kept thinking well, this is the price that you pay for beauty. Moving forward to 2011 and things started to go downhill. I had 5 children by this point and exclusively BF 4 of them, for 12-18 months each. The back pain slowly started becoming joint pain and then my lymph nodes in my arm pits kept swelling daily (Side note, I only wear chemical free deodorant.) Then I became lethargic and then I started having dizziness/ light headedness/ I could no longer form simple sentences/ my speech became delayed/Lost 70% of my hair/ I was terrified of driving because of these things/ my thyroid was all over the place and so many-many other issues. I kept saying that I am dying and my Allopathic Dr looked me in the face and said, " Are you sure that this is NOT in your head?" I left crying and gave up. I wanted to die from being so sick, but in reality I could not prove that I was sick. I was completely alone and my body was simply on autopilot for the next 7 years. Then I was researching cobalt poisoning for my Father because he had became ill after a shoulder replacement surgery and I stumbled across BII. I was like WTF is this, I have never even heard of this?! Well apparently, while I was busy making babies, popping them out and feeding them, a whole bunch of women were now talking about getting sick from their implants. I read 1 article and burst into tears because finally I wasn't crazy, these women were complaining of the same things as me. I immediately got in touch with Dr. Parker and scheduled my consult and the rest is history. He was so warm and caring and spent so much time with me during my consult. He only recommended En-bloc removal and he believed me! Finally! The surgery was a huge success and I would say that I no longer feel like a dying, 70 yr old woman! I feel younger now and probably 90% of my symptoms are gone, Amen! I have no one to blame for my sickness, I made the choice to get my implants out of my own insecurities. My body unfortunately was unable to fight off the chemicals any longer and was giving up. Ladies do your research prior to getting implants, no woman in her right mind would ever remove beautiful looking implants, for no reason. Clearly, my breast are less than perfect (No fault of the docs:) but my kids have their Mom again and that is all that matters:-) Best of luck ladies:-)

Three days ago I had my 33 year old silicone implants removed. Both were ruptured and one was encapsulated with lots of scar tissue. Doc did the explant, fat grafting and a lift at the same time and I'm in a lot of pain. I'm taking Percocet, an antibiotic and an anti-inflammatory. Surgeon said he could do all this at the same time and I'm praying it'll turn out ok. I just want to look normal and I'm NOT getting new ones put in. I can't believe I was so stupid to have this done! Good luck with your healing.

Thank You!
I am sorry to hear that yours were ruptured:-( Oh the things that we do to ourselves!
Hopefully, your healing is smooth sailing. Dr. Parker advised me that waiting the six months to do the fat grafting, would be the best option for me.... I think all docs differ on when to proceed with the repair portion of your surgery. Don't stress and take ur meds as prescribed, you will be delighted, I am sure. Sending energy hugs your way!

Hi there! I am also looking to remove my implants after 2 pregnancies and breastfeeding I’m worried about the elasticity of my skin. Are you finding the wrinkles are smoothing gradually?
I really would like to avoid any further procedures I.e fat transfer. I am hoping mine look something like yours!

Yes, they are smoothing out more each day. The only thing that bothers me is that I have tethering, where my original incision was made. So the bottom of my areola indents in and limits my range of motion. So basically what happens is that when they made my cut at the areola, they cut at a angle and unfortunately the fibers underneath do not grow back that same direction. Thus causing the scar tissue, which is causing that indent. I would not worry about the what ifs because the good of the surgery, far out way the bad possibilities. Keep in mind that mine we very- very large with the implants, they had been in almost 19 yrs, they were over the muscle, they had endured 6 pregnancies (Only 5 made it to term) and they breastfeed 4 of my babies for 12-18 months each. So basically what I am saying is that mine are kinda worst case scenario, so you shouldn't worry. Even if I did not fix the tethering issue, my boobies are completely fine and I am healthy again.
I do remember reading somewhere prior to my surgery that if you have had babies and your stomach looks okay-ish afterwards, that is a good indicator of how well your boobies can bounce back after removal.

Healthy at last!

So here is the scoop:-) I have regained my health again, Amen! My boobies are settling in and fluffing up at this point. Currently, I am on the fence about doing a fat transfer. One day I want to do it and the next day I don't
I am attaching a picture of my boobies in a bra, so that you can get an idea, of why I am toying with a fat transfer. I love them being small and sporty, but in a regular bra (36A) they look not so great. If I do decide to do it, I would not want to be any bigger than a size B. I would not do it for lusty kinda boobies (Be there and done that) just for some filling out the wrinkles/tethering. My husband could care less either way, he just wants me to feel comfy, so I don't have that kinda pressure. Please excuse the mess surrounding me in the pictures, I was cleaning out my dresser. Bye bye big bras.

Decided to check back and see how you are doing....glad to hear you have regained your health. That is the most important part of the EXPLANT Journey. Your breast have improved.
While you are toying with the idea of fat transfer, just use a bra insert, the kind that are in some sport bras that help shape a little. You sound like a confident women and having an understanding husband that wants whatever makes you happy.
Sometimes, I find with a big decision, it's helpful to set it aside for a period of time. Then at a later time, if still drawn closer to the need....then go for it. Kinda like, give yourself a break now.....getting explanted is a big mental deal as well as physical....just chill out for awhile.
Best of luck.....be healthy. :)

Lol, on bra inserts:-) I think that I purchased about 15 different kinds:-) I even bought mastectomy style bras, so that I had something to insert them into. Unfortunately, my favorite type of bras, they don't stay put. My Mom-nipples like to say "Hi" through my shirts:-(. Surgery is still just a thought at this point. You are right that I am blessed to have a supportive partner, otherwise this would be way tougher. Thanks for your advice, I will keep you updated.

Prior to my last and final set of explanted implants, my second was saline. Shortly after getting them, my left one deflated, and I had too wait seven months to get reimpanted. To a certain extent I can understand your frustration with bras. I remember modifying my bra, by adding a small thin piece of stretch fabric to the inside bra cup, and left it open about an inch to insert the bra pad. Kind of like the way some sports bras have a removable inserts. Depending on if you are sewing handy enough, this could give you more options on a style of bra. Some bras actually have a lining that can just be sniped open a bit to squeeze in an insert. 'Mother of Necessity' that's me. Lol! :)

Thanks girly! 7 months, to repair ur deflation, no way. I suppose that you became super crafty during that time. Wtheck! I will give it a shot, I haven't thrown in the towel just yet:-) I just want to be as honest as possible about my journey, my insecurities and my life. I too have moments of weakness and you ladies bring me back to reality. I love it and thank you!

I'm 69 years old and 4 months out from having my 33 yr. old silicone implants removed. I had a lift and a fat transfer at the same time and it was fine. Mine were encapsulated and ruptured. The scars are there but I can live with it. I'm down to a small B cup so I'm wearing a sports bra. My boobs were bad and looked just like the pictures posted with the capsules next to them. Yeah, I felt bad and it was pretty painful but I'm so glad I did this now instead of waiting until I had REAL problems. None of this surgery is for sissies!

Good for you, for taking control back of your body, it isn't an easy choice. Explanting is a no brainer, but subjecting ourselves to more "Improvement" kinda surgery is scary. Only because the last time that we sought out plastic surgery for improvement, it destroyed our lives. It is great to hear your story and hopefully your healing has gone as expected. Best wishes!

Absolutely amazing!
Only 4 months and how your body is getting restored!
I see many complaints hair loss and breast implants.
They are connected, my hair become so thin and before I had like a lions head, so much hair and thick.
Can wait for my op to remove and lift at the same time.
3.5 months to go.

Good Luck, you will be pleased with your health recovery. It is a process and remember that it took you many years to get sick, so you will not be well in 1 day.

Gigantic! I thought that I had posted the size, but I couldn't find it in the threads. I believe they were orginally 475ish and then I had them filled up/overflowed to around 525's. I was tiny b4 my surgery and after the were 34/36DDD. Keep in mind, that in my b4 picture I was actively breastfeeding. So they were even more gigantic.
They say that under the muscle usually fares a bit better than over, so keep that in mind. U will accept ur new boobies regardless, I promise. I continue to toy with the fat transfer, but like I said, I am on the fence. They aren't that bad, but they are boobs that BF 4 kids. I was a size 34A prior too my implants and a 36ddd after. They also grew even bigger during pregnancy and breastfeeding, so I had gigantic boobies all the time. Most of my adult life I have weighted around 140lbs and I am 5'3. Small waist, big butt and thick legs. I liked to eat while pregnant, so I would hit 200lbs each pregnancy
