First off, thank you to all of those who posted their story on RealSelf. You have helped me make an informed decision about breast implant removal.
My journey started on April 2014 when I decided to have breast augmentation. 380cc saline implants under the muscle. Although surgery and recovery went well, I never liked my breasts. I felt embarrassed by them. They were too big for my small frame. This year I finally decided to have them removed. I read extensively about the procedure and consulted 3 doctors.Dr. Bryson Richards told me the procedure was simple, and could be done under local in his office. His persona, attitude and attentive staff were so important in my decision of moving forward with surgery. I have to be honest, removing breast implants under local is not an easy experience. There is very little pain, but you do feel every tuck and pull. It was all very fast and Dr. Richards' bedside manner is amazing.I am just a little over 24hrs of my procedure. I am all wrapped up and just beginning to heal. I showered for the first time today, and I don't hate what I see in the mirror. I am actually pleasantly surprised. I look natural again and I no longer feel like I am carrying an elephant on my chest.I will post more photos as the days go by.I hope this post helps someone like so many other posts helped me.Cheers to a new chapter in my life!
