three month update

ljones21
WORTH IT$8,200
Three months post op and I would say I have healed from this procedure. The pain, although not completely gone, is greatly minimized. I'm still using the Bio Oil daily. I'm still glad I am implant free, but this procedure was not the best choice. I should have gotten the anchor lift. I like the fact that there are no scars but the breasts are left very flat at the top. The surgical precision was a lot better on the left than on the right, but this is an inexact science. I'm now thinking there is a need for a fat transfer to round them out. I won't meet with Dr. Gordan again for another 3 months. He said to give it a good 6-9 months to heal before grafting.

6 week update

ljones21
Well, I've reached that milestone I was dreaming about last year. I thought at 6 weeks, I would be completely healed and ready to get back to working out. Unfortunately, my incisions have not healed and I'm taking some sort of pain pill at least once a day. Some days the pain is minimal and others, almost unbearable. I can't understand the long slow process. I was told that I needed to drastically increase the protein in my diet, so I'm now consuming 60 gm of protein daily. I believe the problem to be that I have suffered with insomnia for years and that is causing the healing process to be slow. I've gotten used to my new body, even though NO bra fits without extra pads. I'm still using the mederma scar gel, but truthfully don't think it's doing much. Am I still glad I did it.? Heck yeah!

I think you're looking great! Even though it seems like a long time - especially when you're in pain - 6 weeks is still early. You need months to see your final results. Some women even see improvement after a year or longer!
I would really recommend you go to a wound clinic. That's all they do. You deserve the best specialized care and better pain management. You should not have to suffer with that level of pain. Ask your GP for a referral!

Thanks for the advice. I was thinking of going to see a specialist. Even my own Dr. admitted that the progress is really slow. I could live with the slow healing but daily pain doesn't seem right. I will admit that the pain is getting lighter every week, but it still seems like a long time. Most people just tell me that "you're older and it will take longer" I guess the message should be If you have anything implanted, get them out before you get old.

I definitely came to the realization that I did not want to be dealing with the upkeep, pain and expense any longer. I feel bad for young women getting implants and not stopping to consider unless you die young, they eventually have to come out. Not worth it!
I do hope you see a specialist - you should not have to suffer at any age! Feel better xoxo

Could the puckering around your nipples and them not healing be from the internal stitches? I was concerned that I had not healed ( I am a few weeks behind you with my explant ) and was told I won't completely heal till those stitches inside are completely dissolved. As the "weeping" is my body spitting them out. I was also told once they were gone the puckering would smooth out. Have you seen a specialist yet. I know you were thinking of doing that.

Had my explanation 5 years go. One year later, had fat transfer (aqua lipo) from abdomen to fluff up boobs. Looked great for one month. Fat cells did not survive. Today, I hv flat and lumpy saggy breasts and lumpy midsection where fat was suctioned out. Takeaway? If you can live with your results after explant. Do it. I wished I was not talked into doing "more ".

I finally removed the tape and these are…

I finally removed the tape and these are some strange looking breasts. They look like tufted pillow. I don't know if the breast will ever fluff out or just remain flat. My expectations were very low from the beginning so I would say I'm pleased with the result. Three weeks post op and I'm still in pain every day. I'm off the pain killers but unless I keep a compressor and an ace bandage on, it hurts. I'll be grateful when the pain goes away. I can live with these funny shaped breasts.

Mine were quite puckery. They did improve. Nature is wonderful!

I went back to your review and believe me, your results are fantastic. I believe after everything heals, I will be happy as well. I believe I will have breasts like a normal 65 year old woman. They are supposed to be flat. They need to heal a bit more, but I'm OK with the results. I'm amazed at all of you girls that went back to work after a week or two. Us old folks definitely need more time. I've gone out a few times, but there is always some pain. If I do a little housework, my chest will burn for a couple of days. I still keep everything bandaged up tight, just so I can move around. Oftentimes, I rather enjoy just holding on to my tiny little breasts. Its been a long time since I could feel my chest and jiggle the fat around (whatever little fat there is) I am believing all that puckering will go away in a few months. Thanks for sharing your story, as it did provide a little bit of comfort regarding the puckering. I will keep you posted.

Hope the pain is easing! Doesn't it feel great to be free? It takes months to see your final results. I am still seeing improvement. The body's ability to heal is amazing. You are looking good!
