I had breast implant removal, including left breast reduction and bi-lateral up-lift, carried out by Professor Mahajan early September 2023.
I am absolutely thrilled with the results, which by far exceeded my expectations.
I had been concerned that I would have very little breast tissue to ‘work with’, particularly as Professor Mahajan had informed me (during consultation in 2022) that my left breast would need a reduction in order to match the right breast.
Dr Mahajan explained the whole procedure in detail, including risks (associated with any surgery). He also explained that cup-size could not be guaranteed. He gave me plenty of time to ask questions, answering them all in full.
I took several months to finally decide to go ahead with the surgery, wanting to weigh all the information up in my own time…
I came to the conclusion that my implants had really ‘had their day’ (surgery had been in 2005, after having 4 children), and were now quite unsightly…
I realised that a few years had passed by since I felt confident enough to be seen bra-less ‘with the lights on’….
I also knew that over the past 3 years my right breast implant seemed to have ‘hardened’ and I didn’t want the situation to get worse as the years passed by….
I knew that part of my decision making was due to the fact that I had been told by Professor Mahajan I needed to stop smoking 3 months prior to surgery….
So, I eventually made my decision (in March 2023) to go ahead with the surgery. I quit smoking in June (hurrah for hypnotherapy!) and agreed with Professor Mahajan that the surgery would be carried out in early September 2023.

The scars are very neat indeed, and will barely be noticeable over time.
I am 55 years old and in truth I don’t think my breasts were as perfect as this even when I was much younger.
Professor Mahajan is a wonderful surgeon and I cannot recommend him highly enough!
