Unethical

Dr. Patel is a skilled surgeon, however the business practices of his office are unethical. Although Dr. Patel was a contracted provider with my insurance and the insurance had agreed to cover my medically necessary procedure, he refused to work with the insurance and I was told all necessary documentation would be provided for me to file the claim on my own. That was a huge red flag I overlooked due to necessity of having the procedure done quickly. It took many months to a year of emails and phone calls with the office and outpatient surgical center to finally get appropriate documentation for the claim. Dr. Patel's office then attempted to file their own claim and indicated I had not paid for the procedure, which was false as they had provided receipts of all payments that were required before the procedure. Now the situation has required legal intervention and the Illinois Attorney General.
