Removing My Breast Implants After 40 Years Was a Great Decision

WORTH IT
I've had breast implants in for 40 years. I'm 70 now. I was on my 3rd set. After having some pain and hardness in my right breast, even though it got better, I decided to have them removed. That was the best decision I've made! I was use to the implants and the slight discomfort at times, but now that they are out, I can't believe how much more comfortable I am, even though my incisions are still healing. My surgery was Oct. 28, '24. Dr. Thomas did a great job! He is very professional and his whole staff was wonderful. Anesthesia was very smooth. I had a lumpectomy for cancer in my right breast, followed with radiation back in 2005. So, He didn't want to do a lift on that one since radiation can cause problems with healing, but he did a lift on my left breast to make it more even with my right one. I am so pleased with his work. I am 6 weeks post my surgery (explant), with no restrictions now. I still have a little pain in my incisions, but it gets better every day, I feel so much better than I did before I had them removed, for instance, more energy and my chronic cough seems less and the weight taken off my chest feels so good. I am so appreciative of Dr. Thomas for agreeing with me that it was time to remove them. He was very supportive. If you are considering removing your implants, I highly encourage you to do so. I'm very happy now.
