Implant Removal After 5.5 Years

I got breast implants in Jun 2016 by a different surgeon. I had wanted implants since puberty and was very happy with the outcome. The implants I chose were the smallest implants that my breast width could fit - 330cc mod profile (low profile was not offered at the practice). I had no side effects from the implants besides excessive animation of the pec muscle.
I had always planned to get my implants out before kids (to avoid massive breasts during pregnancy and while breastfeeding), and even though that won’t be happening for a few years, I just felt now was the time. I felt implants no longer suited my build and personality. I was restricted by what clothes I could wear and they attracted a lot of attention. In Nov 2021 I had my 5.5 y/o implants removed (along with capsule removal and muscle repair). I am extremely happy with the results so far (3 weeks post op) and couldn’t thank Dr Perron enough. I just feel more myself!!
I decided to write this review on RealSelf as the reviews are what helped me bite the bullet and go ahead with the surgery.

You look great! I'm glad you wrote this review because I have surgery next month and I'm anxious. What was the initial recovery like and compared to your recovery when you first got implants?

Thank you! The drains were pretty awful, however I know how essential they are so it was fine. As soon as I got them out (4 days post op), I felt much more myself! I wasn’t in too much pain, which is the same as the first surgery. I just ensured to take pain medication at night so that I slept soundly through the night. Did that for about 3 days with both surgeries. I was walking around the house day of op, went back to work a week after and now just walking on an incline on the treadmill for exercise!

Wishing you all the luck for your surgery!! You will not regret it!!

Thank you for posting your pictures. You’re result is amazing! I have the same body type as you and the same size of implants. I’ve been doubting for a long time. This encourages me to let them removed! Hopefully my results will be as good as yours.

I was pretty apprehensive based on the fear that they would look funky post removal, but I looked at every single before and after out there and it gave me a lot of confidence! I’m sure your results will be fantastic! Wishing you luck ☺️

I really want mine done just scared of breast implants illness but seems some women ar okay
December 11, 2021
I’d same most woman are okay but the risk is still there. I’d say if that’s a fear you have, I probably wouldn’t get implants. You are already associating implants with illness, so if you do get them done and have any symptoms of BII, you will instantly blame it on your implants when it may or may not be the issue. Instead, try find a way to love and accept what you were born with!

I’d say*

Thanks for sharing this. Do you still have the flex animation? We have similar builds and had similar implant size. I have a severe flex deformity after getting mine removed, much more so than when I had the implants.
December 29, 2021
I’m sorry to hear about that! I feel the animation is similar to when I had implants, just much less obvious as I no longer have implants being pushed laterally.

Did you get a lift?
December 29, 2021
No lift, but I think that’s attributed to being in my 20s, having implants for under 10 years and not having kids yet.

Over one year post op! Still super happy with the outcome and wouldn’t change a thing! Have felt 0 changes in my body from having the implants removed, it’s purely an aesthetic change for me. However, it is nice to have a little less restriction in the gym!

You look awesome. May l ask you if you also took the capsules out?
My doctor says if there is no BII siympthoms is not needed to take them out… but if l want to take them out he will do whatever l decide. He says it is more aggressive surgery taking them out. I don’t know what to do…
Thanks for answering

Yep capsules out. I was told if capsules stay in they can later contract causing lumps and also causing difficulties with scans later on. Definitely invasive but there wasn’t really another option for me.

Hello. Were you implants under the muscle?
December 27, 2022
Yep under the muscle!
December 28, 2022
Amazing result! Did you have any muscle repair? Do you chest muscles feel normal/work normally again?
December 28, 2022
Thank you! Yeah I did have muscle repair! Muscles definitely feel normal, but there’s still a lot of animation when I tense (however this doesn’t bother me one bit)

Thanks for the reply :)

Hi!
Thank you for posting your story and results and also keeping us updated on your progress!

I had my 125cc implants done June 2013 and now looking to have them removed by dr Perron.

Are you able to share a photo of your boobs now? And a close up of your scars if that’s not too much to ask? Thank you so much!
