Explanting after almost three years of grief and regret.

UPDATED FROM KarmaCares

2 months post op!!

WORTH IT$2,000
Haven’t updated in awhile but no news is good news I hear! It’s been two month now since surgery and I have nothing but great news to share. My breasts look almost identical to my former pre augmentation shape! Still so happy I got them out, no regrets at all! If you’re considering an explant my advice is to do it sooner than later! It’s truly a weight off my chest ;)

You look amazing and are so brave. I'm jealous! I had my BA 10 months ago and these things are so uncomfortable I notice them every day. I'm tired of everyone saying "just give it more time you will love them ". So irritating . Congrats and I hope you continue to heal well!
Wow. You have a great result! You note the scars line up perfectly on the crease - are they more pronounced than after your original BA. Considering an explant but worried about scarring !
Your natural breasts are the wish boobs for many--lovely and so happy you are natural again.
Oh my goodness, they are perfect.
Absolutely beautiful.... did you do fat transfer as well? My surgery 9/13.... can’t wait ;)

48 hours post op!

Checking in, officially 48 hours post surgery and feeling good! No pain, just mild discomfort. I’m loving my small boobs! I’m just super relieved to have my small body back. Just looking at the implants sitting on my coffee table ( I asked to keep them) that fact that those were under my skin two days ago blows my mind. Picking them up and feeling how freaking heavy that are is wild. I knew they were heavy, but didn’t think they were close to weighing 3lbs together! The feeling of being relieved of the implants is amazing. It’s so nice not to have a bunch on boob under my arms anymore!! And when walking or reaching it’s SO NICE not to have my arms brushing up on the sides of them. I’m also not going to have to worry about my armpit making a tooting noise... sometimes when I would reach up for something and bring my arm back down my armpit and side boob would meet and create a suction noise that creates a tooting noise. Super embarrassing to say the least! Can any of you ladies relate to this?! Lol. Sleeping is already feeling better, I used to feel the need to sleep in my side because they just weighed so much on my chest. Now sleeping on my bag is comfortable again, definitely looking forward to sleeping on my stomach too, but I’m going to wait a bit until I attempt to do so. My post op apointment is on Monday morning. I’m super excited for this because after this appointment I’ll be able to wear regular ( but tight fitting) sports bra again! Right now I’m under order to keep the surgical bra on with a thick piece of cotton sitting between my boobs and the bra. I’m super frustrated with the bra and cotton. It’s super hard to get the bra on while having cotton stuffed in it. I have cotton sticking out of the side of the bra, i look like a broken teddy bear. Anywho I posted some photos I took after my shower today. Try to ignore the marks on my boobs from the surgical bra: smushed cotton. I love how light and soft they are. Didn’t think I’d be as smitten with them this soon! Stay tuned for a picture following day 4 after my post op!

I have 310cc under muscle. I got them January this year and it was a huge mistake. I don’t know where my head was at when I went through with surgery after I had a gut feeling I wouldn’t like having implants. I wanted them out at 6 weeks but surgeon said I had to wait as he didn’t want me making a knee jerk reaction as I may adjust and like them. I’m hoping to get them out next month in the hope I’ll look similar to before BA. I’m looking forward to feeling light again when I run. Did you have your capsules removed?
I hope you’ll post your story. I’m in the same place, but am still researching the explant option. Worried about scarring and droopiness.
Great to hear that you are doing well and healing. Your results look great! Life without implants is such a joy! Best wishes and continued healing. X
Thanks for following me through my journey! Best decision ever in my opinion. I’m just so relieved to have my old body back. I’m not ven a week out and I’m so much more comfortable now than I was any old day with implants in!
You have terrific looking breasts and certainly didn't need anything extra! Makes me wonder again at what harm the media has done to our self esteem.
My implants came out in February, I can honestly say I feel back to normal now . My nipples were uneven for years with the implants , but back where they should be now ! It took a while to get used to my 34 A chest again , and the scars are still pretty visible , but every week I feel better and love being able to go without a bra if I want . Post surgery , I had a huge dent in one breast where the silicon had leaked and had to be removed along with a fair bit of breast tissue . This has amazingly almost totally repaired itself , the dent is half as big as it was , it looks fine now and I will consider going topless in Ibiza in 6 weeks ! Really I wish I had the implants removed earlier , they started to go wrong soon after they were placed 17 years ago and I was too scared to do anything about it . The pain and hardness finally sent me to the surgeon . I hope all you ladies are heartened by the stories here , you are not alone , a lot of women are returning to their natural shape and delighted with the outcome , I certainly am . Xx
I have to say I am jealous of these women who have had their implants removed. I would like to consider it but my husband would be so disappointed. I know that sounds shallow but he said he would love me and support me with whatever my decision but to think about how would feel if he had his penis reduced. I had saline implants for 10 years until a rupture. Then I replaced with silicone and it felt like a major upgrade. 4 years later the implant started to protrude thru the muscle but not thru akin so I had a mesh put it that fixed it. Now the same breast has a ruptured silicone implant as seen on MRI. I told him I’m so tired of having surgeries. Allergan is going to pay for a replacement because it has only been 8 years since placement. I’ve thought about fat transfer but have seen some poor results. My implants are 240cc and I’m wearing a 30D. but without them I’m pretty sure I would be an A at best. Wish me luck as I have my first appointment in 2 days with my PS.
Hi! Just had my implants out yesterday and i'm feeling amazing! Do you have any updates, or things we should know about the next few days of healing? Thank you for your review, it really helped me in having surgery a few days after you.
Hey Ang! Sorry I want getting notifications on RS and didn’t see this comment until now! Honestly recovery was a breeze! Just lay low for a week and keep ointment on your incisions. I’m a little over two weeks pot op and feel amazing! I’ve been back to the gym, jogging with no issues at all. Removal is somewhat of a miracle. Free four day post op I didn’t even need Advil. Everyday without implants so far has been more comfortable than ANY DAY I ha the implants. Moving around, reaching, driving, hugging, sleeping is astronomically easier now. Congrats on your explant, hoping you have an easy breezy recovery, I’m confident you will!
So so happy for you!! Congratulations!!!!

Photos with 2.5 year old 325cc implants

Photo taken today of current 325cc smooth moderate profile saline. Implants were put in Fall 2016. Prior to surgery I was a 34b now I’m 36c. Hoping to explant sometime this spring. Nervous about my consultation this Friday. The PS did a great job an I called the office recently asking if he does explant and the receptionist said “ oh yes he does them all the time” so I’m hoping he will be able to answer all the recommended questions I saved on implantillness.com. Does anyone think that my boobs look smaller than a 325cc?

Thank you for all your posts. Your story is so detailed and appreciated. From wanting to lose 5 lbs prior to surgery, being athletic and the implants interrupting that, the desire to sleep on stomach and nerves leading up to date. I went through same. I have DD and thought they were maybe a pound each .. but you were smaller and yours were about 3 lbs... mine must be 4 perhaps. I have gained weight and constantly working out hasn't helped so I know getting them out will. I go in next month. Happy you are free
You’re so very welcome! I wanted to create a post with as much detail as possible in order to pay it forward to the RealSelf community. There were so many posts I read prior to mine that inspired and empowered me to consider and ultimately commit to an explant. You’re not going to believe the feelings of relief and happiness your about to experience following your explant! I’m only six days out and I can’t tell you how my life has already improved in so many ways! Emotionally and physically I’m so much better off without them and you will be too. And in terms of weight loss, it’s crazy because I when the day of explant came I was kind of indifferent about my weight, kinda upset I didn’t lose more.. but then after I got them out and by my old smaller frame back I didn’t even care to lose another pound! It looks like I’m 10 lbs lighter now! No joke, it’s insane how big the implants made me look! I’m confident you’re going to experience all these positivity’s post explant! If you have DD then I’m confident they together will weight 4 maybe 5 lbs together, don’t forget to ask your PS to keep them once they’re taken out! Hoping to hear how yours goes, best of luck!
