Yes Breast Implant Illness is Real!
Hi, I wanted to share my experience with breast implants. Hopefully I can help someone by telling my story.
I had my 1st set of saline implants in 1991. They were oval shaped and turned sideways a lot! They looked very natural until they shifted, multiple times daily. I would have to maneuver them back into place. That's why I decided to get them replaced in 2006. My PS talked me into getting silicone implants. I didn't want silicone but he assured me it was safe and I would be in a study. Well, that study never happened, unfortunately. I do not know why? But would like to! Had they done the study they would have found that I developed a plethora of autoimmuine diseases and became very sick! I explanted in 2022. I had to go about 6hrs away from home to find someone who had experience removing implants by doing an "enbloc capsulectomy". It's where they remove the capsules along with the implants. This is extremely important!! When in recovery my Dr said "both implants were ruptured and the silicone had invaded my chestwall and cavity! And it was a mess"
I did get better after explanting but I'm still not good. Through all of this, over the years, I have seen every kind of Dr. imaginable, not one was knowledgeable about breast implant illness! I found out about BII from a friend who referred me to a Facebook group all about BII. Not one Dr. mentioned it! I had been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, raynauds, alopecia, hiatal hernia n Barrett’s, gerd n reflux. I also had serious issues with my teeth, swallowing and many more illnesses. Since explanting the RA has slowly disappeared and most things have improved! This cough I developed from the silicone is still bad though. But my sputum tests are now negative for staff, since I explanted. I had also been diagnosed with COPD, chronic bronchitis and asthma. I've since been diagnosed with bronchiectasis. Whatever I have, this cough has been debilitating, for years! I am still hopeful that I can find help and will get more of my life back! Please know, you will also need to think outside the box to get the correct testing done for things like high levels of heavy metals etc. If possible I will add a list of the ingredients in both saline and silicone breast implants. As you will see, they are the same, neither are safe! I must admit, I enjoyed having larger breasts, very much. But I sure have paid a very big price ...much more than I ever thought possible! That's why I'm submitting this information. I hope to help inform others of some of the potential challenges, that most likely will arise, if you decide to take your chances. If so, be on the lookout for any unexplained illnesses and be sure to set aside another 8 -14K to get them removed.
I certainly hope this has been helpful and that you make good decisions now to protect your future?
