Dr. James Chao & his entire staff basically saved my life.

In my perspective (maybe this is a slight exaggeration), Dr. James Chao & his entire staff basically saved my life. My experience is unique in that I got implants in OC at the Image Center with Dr. Peter Newen and shortly after I knew I needed them out. I had awful anxiety & many other issues. I was hesitant to go with Prime PS because I originally was calling for Dr. Umansky, but he recently retired and the office said Dr. Chao was his great friend & their practice is the same. I also saw soo many reviews from Dr. Umansky & not too many for Dr. Chao. However, from day 1, Dr. Chao was present, honest, informative. His nurses became my fan club with how supportive they were. I got a packet full of background info on the doctor & the office. I was trying to do so much research, but didn’t find too much on his background online. In the pamphlet. I found out that he is one of the reconstructive surgeons for the NFL Chargers!! That along with so many of his other qualifications made me so much more confident going into this scary surgery. Even tho it was a super straightforward procedure (simply go over the same incision, take out the implants, remove scar tissue if needed, stitch back up), you can imagine how upsetting it was to think about what my outcome might be. The staff reassured me that most likely, my results would look almost the same as before I got implants. The office even squeezed me in for surgery ASAP, even tho the doctor is extremely busy. His fees were extremely reasonable (I was soo close to going back to my original office just because I wanted them out so badly & they would be on the cheaper side given that I had also spent sooo much getting them put in in the first place, but even my consults for the explant left me in the same state when leaving the office - full of tears & more anxiety.) He even mentioned that he was one of the active doctors on the FB page for Breast Implant Illness, which is something that many doctors don’t even believe is a real thing. He was there at every post-op, the staff called me every single day for weeks after surgery to check in. The anesthesiologist was extremely knowledgeable, educational, & friendly. I had the WORST experience the past months with Dr. Peter Newen's office at the Image Center. I basically was constantly lied to, they did not care about my health or well-being, and I spent a full 5 minutes with the Dr. after requesting & being promised he would be available to talk with me before & after surgery. I blame the money hungry office more than the Dr. I'm surprised Dr. Chao doesn't have more reviews on RealSelf. He & his entire staff deserve a million 5 stars. They saved me from some of the darkest times of my life. I felt 100% in the best hands. My results are basically that my scar is even thinner than my original scar, my boobs look almost exactly the same as before (if not, maybe even more symmetrical!) So so grateful for this honest & trustworthy office.
