Not much has changed, I’m still absolutely thrilled I had the implants removed. And I’m equally happy that I didn’t go ahead and schedule a lift at the same time as I certainly didn’t need it.

Hard to believe that one month ago I was getting prepared to head to surgery. Knock on wood, I feel like I healed fairly quickly from this and it was definitely not the same as having them put in. Still trying to find the right bra, that’s really frustrating to me and I just keep going back and wearing my comfy old sports bras. I’ve gone back to jogging on the treadmill, but slowly (who am I kidding? I always jog slow!) and today started using my weights. Everything is pretty much a go that I need to do, I don’t really have any restrictions at this point.

You look fab! well done you have given me even more courage to just go for the explant without uplift. Thank you!

Hi! She did the same for me. My dear friend had hers removed a few years ago after 24 years, but she opted to have the lift and is very glad she did. I think it may depend on the size of your implants. Ours are 325 or 330cc. I've gained weight too and I know I have more breast tissue since my bra size went way up. I am really hoping I don't have to have the lift, but we'll see. It would be so much easier not to! Good luck to you too! I have to wait another year before getting mine out.

Steri Strips removed
lahenry39February 28, 2018
Yesterday I went for a follow up appointment and the steri strips were removed and the end of the stitches snipped off that were sticking out. My incisions are longer than the originals because he had to get the capsules out too. I’m okay with that, I think the incisions are looking very good.
Still wearing a sports bra, next week I can start watching my granddaughter again, and slowly start back with my treadmill walking.

You look really good! Hard to believe that you were flat as a board before you got implants. LOL. I want mne out too but I keep getting different opinions from different doctors. One says I don't even have enough tissue to have a lift even if I want one and that I will be left with empty sacks if I don't get new implants. Another doctor (the one everyone tells me is the best in the city) says I have enough tissue to do lift and I would end up with perky little A cups, but she doesn't think I will be happy because I won't look in proportion. She said if I don't have the lift I will be saggy. Can't decide what to do. I think it costs more to do the explant and lift separately. Decisions, decisions. So nice to hear that your hubby is supportive. I am single and the idea of dating with these hard implants in my chest is depressing but the idea of dating with saggy little breasts is also depressing. That's why I had them put in in the first place! Continued healing to yo!

I don’t understand where these breasts came from lol! I kept checking at first to see if he put some back in! hahaha. my PS also said I probably wouldn’t be happy with just removing them without a lift or replacement. I hope you are as happy with your results as I am if and when you decide to go ahead with it!

I think that it is easy for me to say but as we get older do we really care what other people think. You will be beautiful once the implants are out. I'm so grateful to the brave women who are so honest with their photos as it give us women wanting/waiting for a explant date something to hold onto. Be proud of who you are hun, and if someone makes you feEl bad maybe that's what you need to think about rather than ensuring you are doing what's right for you. Best of luck [RS bleep]

I hope my results are as good too! Doesn't look like you will need lift but if decide to do it, it looks like you will have plenty of tissue

Thank you for sharing your story. I think your results are great. I could only hope for the same. It's been encouraging to hear your story as well as so many of the other women. And so many are older women, which makes it easier to relate to their situation.
My Explant date is the 22. I am 69 with 34 yr old BI....over the muscle....MRI showed small ruptures in both and Baker IV level capsular Contracture. I will be having an Enbloc (Total Capsulectomy...removal of implant and calsuke as one.) No lift for me also...just want to recover as quickly as possible....with no additional scars.
Before implants was a full 34 B....with BI I'm a 34 DD. The contracture us so bad tat the implants are sitting high...and my breast tissue and nips are below. If I cover the implant area with my hands, it's pretty easy to see how my breast will look afterwards. Although I know the upper pole area will be flat...I won't miss these rocks.
Continued healing!

I wish you easy healing after your explant. to me the best thing is just knowing I don’t have to worry about them anymore, it’s done finally!

March 4, 2018
Thank you. And yes that exactly what I'm looking forward to...not having to worry about them anymore. They have interfered with my life for way too many years. Back in the day there was never any mention that BI would not last. But today, it's so different, The PS tells you it won't be your last surgery. I can not imagine knowingly making a decision to get a breast augmentation with that knowledge. And the bigger the first implants are, comes with problems down the road on revision. It's go bigger yet or lift with revision. It's just a roller coaster of negative events....thank God for this site...I'm getting closer to getting off this ride!!

exactly! if I had known that they were supposed to be replaced every 10 years I would not have done it. my then PS made it seem like, okay! good to go forever! I am grateful that he listened to what size I wanted, mine were relatively small.
March 4, 2018
My PS did tell me 15 years ago that I would probably have to replace them in 10 or 20 years. I didn't worry about it then because it seemed so far away! How the time flys! I am not going to get in the surgery merry go round. Just want to get them out! I did have fun with them the first few years before they got really hard. Expense fun though. Probably would have had a better time using the money for a tropical vacation every year! My PS didn't tell me about the MRI recommendation every two years. No way I can afford to do that even once!
March 4, 2018
I had not had the MRI recommendation either. I definitely could have gone on a fun vacation for the expense of the in and out! hahaha. but realistically, at the time I would have sold my soul for normal sized breasts.
