3 Weeks Post Op

It’s 3 weeks since my operation and my doctor took off the stickers from my scars and gave me the green light to go back to my triathlon training (swim, bike, run). The scars are healing well (he used glue) and my breasts look a lot better than day one. Still very soft and wobbly but fuller. I can even still wear some of my old bras. Every day I wake up I am grateful for my decision to remove my implants, my energy levels are rising, my mood is always good, my inexplicable anxiety is gone. I feel natural, normal, light, fresh, free. I can’t wait to get back to my training and races! I look thinner and younger and I haven’t had any panic attacks, dizziness, sore muscles or irritable bowel syndrome attacks since my operation. Will update again soon. A big thanks to all of you who gave me the courage to go through with this!

You look fantastic! I am explanting 10 year old implants in about 1 month and am super nervous about the outcome. Im athletic and have very little breast tissue but your pictures makes me hopeful. If I look like you after explant I will super happy! Thank you for posting and best wishes with your healing <3
Thank you so much for your comment! I look at old pictures and my breasts look exactly as they did when I put the implants 15 yrs ago, so don’t worry you will look great and feel even greater! Good luck and keep us posted, you are amazing for your decision!

Post Op Day 1

I already feel great! I did not take any pain killers, they gave me in vein antibiotic and anti-inflammatory meds for 24 hrs. I slept fairly good, even on my stomach for a while, only the tube pockets annoyed me a little. My tubes have only drained a few drops of fluids, so we took them out today and I am going home. It was painless, only a bit discomfortable. My instructions are that I can drive home, I can engage in normal daily activities, no meds unless I want to take a Panadol in case of mild pain, no exercise, no weight lifting, rest, but keep active by tempo walking. Since I train a lot, no exercise will drive me crazy! I am not thrilled by the look of my tiny, supple breasts, but I am sooooo relieved! I feel rejuvenated and free of an actual as well as a mental weight. I guess even after 14 years, they do not look much different than they looked after breastfeeding 3, when I originally decided to put my implants in, maybe just a bit more saggy, I will update after some time, to check if they get any fuller. My doctor says to let them heal for a year or so and then decide if I want a lift. But clearly no regrets! Please share any online bra suggestions to feel better. A! and the bowel is still sleeping, my tummy is swollen. I work on it with kiwis and green leaves. I look at my implants and feel so sorry I carried them for so long. Just looking at them now, it seems to me so normal that my body could not accept them and handle them. Ladies, really, if you feel any implant discomfort go ahead and take them out. You can mend this.

Operation Day

The hours before the surgery were long and stressful. I had a quite expensive post surgery bra with me, borrowed by a friend. The doctor drew a line on my old incisions which are underneath my breasts and I was given general anesthesia. I do not comment a lot on the doctor and staff because this is Greece and I guess none of you ladies would make the journey, but everyone was excellent, and if anyone is interested I will be glad to share info. It took a bit more than an hour. They took the scar tissue out and sent it for biopsy. I woke up gently and stayed in the recovery room for some time, then I was taken up to my room feeling better and awakening as time passed. No nausea, no pain, no dizziness, I could help myself to the bathroom and change to my nightgown, even comb my hair. The surgery was at 10.00 and by 14.00 I had a good appetite to eat. My hospital diet was free. Tip: If you take general anesthesia make sure you eat lots of greens the last days, because the bowel will totally sleep the following days. I had bandages on my incisions, I do not have stiches but glue, I had the big bra on and tubes coming out of my sides, ending in two plastic pockets which I carried around with me. They do not drain a lot of fluid though. I feel relieved and happy I took out of my body those toxic bags, but ok, my breasts look mmm… No worries. My doctor said it was a wise thing to do not only because of my BII probs but also because my implants were CUI implants. Grateful for my choice! Thankful for this community!
