Great Surgeon

WORTH IT
Dr. Robert Brueck definitely knew what he was doing when it came to performing an explant on my saline, under the muscle, implants of 20+ years. Dr. Brueck's knowledge (credentials) accompanied with his kindness, compassion, and willingness to answer any and all questions/concerns made selecting him as my surgeon the best choice for me. His staff also has the kindest and most caring ladies I have meet in the medical profession. I believe in the saying "seeing is believing;" and since Beauty by Brueck offers free consultations I recommend making an appointment so you will be able to form an opinion based on your own experience. What I can honestly say is if other work is needed in my future I won't hesitate contacting Beauty by Brueck in Fort Myers/Cape Coral FL and scheduling with Dr. Brueck.

It's been 22 days since my explant and I…

It's been 22 days since my explant and I apologise for not posting any update until now, but I have been struggling with my new look. I have gone a couple of times to try on bras and each time I have left the store depressed and in years. Tonight I barely made it to my car where I broke down crying. Nothing fits! I don't want to wear sports bras forever and I refuse to wear a training bra at nearly 50 years old. I am just having a hard time with my body image even though I know my explant has been the smartest and healthiest decision I have made for myself in forever. Tomorrow I am going to go to some of the "prestigious" stores and see if I can be fitted for a bra -- guess I will see how that goes and I really hope I don't break down crying.
As for my physical recovery update, I am healing well. My bruising is becoming lighter and shrinking and pain in nearly none -- I just experience a slight pinching occasionally when reaching, some sensitivity occasionally on my right nipple, and some pressure pain at the top part of my chest kind of where my bruising is. The symptoms only occur occasionally so I know it's just the healing process with my muscles. I am able to press on my just but not too hard so I think another week should pretty much do it for the physical healing part of my procedure.
My next follow up visit was scheduled for 6 months, sometime in August, and if I am still not comfortable with my body image I will be doing a fat transfer (if I can put enough weight on between now and then to make it financially worth doing).
The best advice I can offer to myself and to those of you who are thinking about explanting is too stay focused on your reason for having the explant. I'm a true believer that mental health can be adjusted; physical health however should be treated so having an explant too improve your health is admirable and much more important than having boobs.

Well I'm glad you're feeling well and from what I can see with your pictures you look absolutely fine looks like your breasts are healing very good and they look great and I'm sure it takes a little while to get used to but I'm sure you will just love them and like you said if in the future when you go for your 6-month checkup if you're still not quite happy with the loss if you can get some fat transplant that will help put volume to your breast and at least it's all natural
Good luck to you and speedy recovery
Thanks! I am happy that I am healing well and I didn't have any complications. I just wish I could found a normal bra that fits and compliments what I have left. Tomorrow might bring something my way, at least I hope it does.
You look beautiful, remember that from the inside looking out .
Thanks lilypink! I actually just measured myself for a bra according to Bare Necessities and if correct I have been trying on the wrong size so today I will be heading out bra shopping and hoping for good results. And no matter what I will stand firm knowing I am beautiful inside outward not because of the size of my bra.
Stay positive & strong !
Ii can see that you had your explant done awhile ago, but I wanted to know if you had the fat transfer done? Our situations are very similar, have had implants for 28 years and I am afraid of what I’m going to look like without them. I love them, but they’re killing me. I have every sign of BII, hypothyroidism, Sjögren’s, ebstein Barr, multiple sclerosis etc. so I know they have to come out, I’m just scared. I’ve already had a consultation with Dr. Brueck, so I just need to make that next phone call and go in to schedule everything.. How are you feeling since you’ve had yours removed? Are you out of the memory fog and have your energy back yet? Also, you look so beautiful without your implants!! It’s so hard to see ourselves with our body looking so different, but we have to remember that these things are slowly killing us! Beauty comes from within.,I had maybe an a cup when I had these things put in, after 4 implants I now have a d cup. I will definitely have a lot of saggy skin. I plan on having a lift and fat transfer in 6 months,. Also, they won’t tell me the cost of the lift and the fat transfer on the phone, because he’s noted I decided to only explant and let my body heal for 6 months! I think doing the lift at the time of the explant might be a better option. Any information could help. Thanks everyone!

I went for my 1st post op today. I got a good report and now I no longer need the bandages. Next Monday, 6 days from now, I will be returning to have my stitches taken out. I have thick skin so it has taken a few days for bruising to show, but my poor little left boob is starting to look jaundice (bruising) and my chest is actually starting to hurt more now than the days after the surgery. I haven't taken any pain medicine today so that's probably why I hurt so bad. Icing definitely helps and I highly recommend it. I'm looking forward to next Monday so I can get rid of these stitches and start healing the scars.

Good luck with your first post op appointment I hope you start feeling better I'm sure you'll start to feel a lot better once you're sutures are out so overall were you happy with Dr b and where did you have your surgery did you have it done at a Day Surgery Center good luck and I hope you feel better please keep posting with your progress
I don't have anything negative to say about Dr. B. however I never questioned his credentials or years of experience since I did research his background, read his reviews, researched explant procedures and the purpose of performing a capsulectomy. I prayed and placed my faith in God and so far I am doing well. I had the surgery as an outpatient in his Fort Myers office location; there is a surgerical center attached to this facility. I had to be there by 7:15 am surgery was about 8:30 and I was heading home around 11. Everything went smoothly and Dr. B. and his recovery nurse are really good people. I am glad I choose him to perform my explant.
Thank you very much for the information and please keep us posted on your update good luck and I'm sure once your sutures are out you'll feel much better but you look great

I hope you feel better after you had your sutures removed please post and let us know how you're doing
It's been an exhausting the last two days with returning to work. My sutures came out, however I want to say I only had them under my right breast. My left breast was able to be closed using other methods. I have scoliosis so after my explant my right breast needed a little extra help staying closed this the sutures. It's good they're gone because they started to irritate me. One of the stitches, the one that was really irritating me, has left a hard bump under my breast feeling similar to a hard headless pimple. I am going to give it a few days and keep an eye on it and if it doesn't go down or completely away I'll contact the doctor. Both sides of my chest are bruised now where as before when I first starting my recovery it was only bruised on my left breast. I contribute this to 2 things: first, I have thick skin which takes me a while to bruise, but I am sure it has more to do with the second reason -- doing to much and not relaxing enough. Icing has become my new best friend because I don't use pain killers; haven't for the last 3 to 4 days. Overall, I am feeling good and I am so glad I had my implants removed and not replaced. I will be given a full follow up this weekend. Thanks flopan57 for checking in on me.
