I decided to get a breast augmentation in 2013 after losing breast tissue as a result of nursing my two children. Pre augmentation I was a 34b and after receiving 450cc silicone implants, above the muscle, I ended up being a 34ddd; on a 95 pound frame. I became pregnant just one month after augmentation and had two more children after that pregnancy.
The weight fluctuation and milk production from pregnancy caused stretching and shape change, which ultimately resulted in me being unhappy with my breasts. I couldn’t exercise, I couldn’t find clothes that fit and I generally wanted to cover myself in order to hide the size of my breasts.
I started thinking about removing my implants in early 2019. After months of research and a few consultations, I decided to have my implants removed, but the capsule was left. My explant surgery was completed on October 7th. Recovery was manageable, with the drains being the most painful part. Two days after surgery, the drains were removed I felt much better. There’s been minimal pain and I’m pleasantly surprised at the way my breasts look. I gained about 40 pounds over the past 6 years so I was hopeful that I would have more visible breast tissue, and thankfully I was correct.
