Everything seems to be healing up nicely. I do not have any numbness anymore. My scars are healing as expected and I continue to apply Biocorneum Advanced Scar treatment to them twice each day as was advised to me by Dr. Howell. I had my implants put in via axillary incisions, so all of the scars under my breasts are new. It appears that all of my swelling is gone and also a couple of my old bras fit that I had saved. I am back to a 32AA/ 32A depending on the brand, most bras that fit me are 32AA. It is difficult to remember everything when it comes time to make these posts, so if you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask.

Do you feel lighter? I feel so much lighter, if I were to explain the feeling it would be that I took off a very tight bra and am now so comfortable. Even when I stretch, I have much better range of motion and never realized how much the implants were pulling and restricting me. The terrible pains I was having in my left breast are gone as well as the pain in my left shoulder blade. Ah freedom!!
I have noticed that when I am laying down I do not have the pressure around my sternum like I did when I had implants. Laying on my side is much more comfortable now. I did occasionally have some discomfort and pain around my implants but not too often. I am standing up straighter now and feel less general tightness in my chest. I feel a little more comfortable taking deep breaths as well.
Thank you so much for sharing pics. It has really helped me to recall what I looked like 32 years ago. I will be back to my A cup again in 12 days. You were so smart to do it while you are young and have so many years ahead to be your natural self. I truly applaud you!
I found this site to be very helpful both before getting my implants and getting them removed, so I thought that I should definitely give back. One of the reasons I went ahead and just had them removed and not replaced was seeing how many problems I could face. I enjoyed my implants while I had them and I am very thankful that I did not have any major problems while I had them in. Ultimately though, implants seem to be ticking time bombs for one problem or another and I 100% did not think it would be worth risking it any longer.
So true!
i Am really impressed with the neat scars I didn’t think this was possible when removing all in one did you have an “en bloc” removal , I have the same implants and looking to have this type of procedure but I know it has it’s risks.
I did not have an en bloc removal. However, I did have a total capsulectomy and the surgeon said he was able to remove 100% of the capsule. Some of the scar tissue was tested and the results came back normal.
Thank you for replying , that’s great news! I really want to get mine booked now , I would be over the moon if mine look like yours after! Thank you for sharing :-)
Less than a week after my explant of same size but straight back to what I was before.. AA if you were being generous.. still no extra breast tissue after 10 years and I dont put weight on easier.
Can i ask if your shape and size changed or fluffed out in any way after? :( thanks for sharing photos really helps x
I am about the exact same as I was before implants. From after the surgery until now, I haven't really experienced much of a change.

Overall I am doing great. I feel very comfortable lifting light objects and there isn't any strain in my chest. My left nipple is still feels a little numb yet somewhat tingly. My right nipple feels normal but hasn't filled out like the left one.

How long had you had the implants you had removed. You look very healthy and your breast shape and size is very nice.
I had them placed on February 16, 2011, so I had them just short of 9 years before having them removed.

I decided to get my breast implants removed because of the cancer risk associated with textured breast implants. I was not having any complications prior to having them removed, I was just being cautious. I had 330cc Allergan Natrelle style 168 round textured moderate profile implants put in by Dr. Edward J. Bednar in Charlotte NC on February 16, 2011. I feel that he did a great job and I was always happy with the results. I had moved further from Charlotte since having them placed, so I decided to get them removed a little closer to my current home. I went with Dr. Hampton A. Howell in Winston-Salem and could not have been more pleased. Every single thing about his practice was perfect. His staff was beyond excellent and he was great in every aspect. I would very highly recommend him.

I had the implants removed with a total capsulectomy. I went from a 32DD prior to surgery back to my original 32A size. I had drains placed and they remained in for 7 days. I slept in a recliner for the first 8 days post op. I took my prescribed pain pills for the first 3 days and was fine with Tylenol or Advil after that. I took my first shower 48 hours after surgery. The drains were a bit uncomfortable and a bit of a hassle, but overall they were fine. I have a desk job and I had my surgery on a Wednesday, and returned to work the following Tuesday and then I took the next day off so I could have my drains removed. There was a burning sensation when they were removed, but nothing too terrible. Having the drains out felt great though. Week 2 was much easier, mainly due to the lack of drains. I had most of my mobility back and had some occasional pain but nothing too serious.

Congratulations! you look great , your retraction went back so nicely. I had drains in for 17 days, still happy with my AA's . I am so surprised how much easier I am taking deep breaths and how much lighter I feel. Enjoy being free from worrying about complications with foreign objects in your body, it is such a relief.
Were you fearful of how you may imagined yourself looking after removal? I'm terrified of getting mine out. It would be by local anesthesia and they wouldn't remove the capsules. I am on my second rupture of saline implants within 8 months.
I was slightly concerned, but the risk of cancer from my textured implants outweighed any fear I had of what I would look like after. I knew it could have looked bad afterwards, due to skin stretching and things like that, but luckily my boobs went back to about exactly the way they were before and I feel very fortunate in that regard.
I think you look great! Did you Dr try talking you into another type of implant?
He made sure I didn't want another type, the implants (not the surgery) would have been free. I decided to leave them out and he didn't pressure me into replacing them.
Thank you for your responses. I'm trying to out weigh similar things.
