Reading the reviews on RealSelf has been life-changing for me. I had implants for 27 years - hated them and when I couldn’t take it any longer I started my research 2.5 years ago. Last year I had my implants removed and I felt immediately better. But I was left with more skin than breast tissue what made me very self conscious.
After stalking uncountable reviews I knew Fat Transfer is the way to go and Dr. Bednar is The One to perform it.
It wasn’t an easy decision since I live 8000 miles away but my gut said it would be worth the commitment.
Had my surgery 18 days ago and everything went absolutely smoothly so far. When I think of all the fears and concerns I had before my operation, it makes me smile because I had them for no reason.
Yes, there was a bit discomfort: soreness from catheter and intubation; couldn’t tolerate the painkillers (made me sick, so I stopped taking them from day 1 after surgery) and my breasts have swelled a lot... But really nothing serious or unbearable since the pain wasn’t of a persisting kind like when you’re having a migraine or a toothache.
For me, wanting this procedure had nothing to do with vanity: it has been a journey. I started unhappy and insecure and now I’m so happy to be alive and when I look at myself naked it makes me smile all over my face! My advice if you’re seriously contemplating this operation for yourself: don’t read the consent forms, just sign them because the content is very scary und you’ll have to sign them anyway...

My recovery so far

Immediately after surgery I have noticed that moving around felt better than just laying... So I moved as much as possible.
Furthermore I have noticed that after 3 days taking a shower wasn’t great at all. Getting myself out and back into my girdle felt like an intense workout.
48 hours after surgery I had a manual lymphatic massage with Lori Adler and that felt awesome.
5 days post operation I felt very good and could have flown home (10 hours flight). On day 6 and 7 my breast swelling increased a lot and I started to panic because I had to fly home and Dr. Bednar had told me due to the cabin pressure an increase of swelling was to be expected... On my way to the airport I passed by the office and was wrapped tightly again around my breasts what helped.
My measurements before (I am 51 years old and 5’6”):
Bust 34.5"
Under bust 31"
Waist 28.75"
Hip 37.5"
Thighs 21"
130 lbs day of surgery
19 days after:
Bust 37.75"
Under bust 31"
Waist 27.5"
Hip 36.5"
Thighs 20.5"
126 lbs
Altogether I have felt much better than expected!

Swelling and bruising have decreased and I am feeling very good.
My donor sites look great so far. And sleeping on my back is not as bad, was so before apprehensive since I am a belly sleeper normally...
I really like to wear my compression garment and still wearing my compression stockings: usally my blood pressure is very low but due to the stockings my blood pressure is normal...
My scars are flat just a different colour I think they look great for 3 weeks post op.
I am a little bit obsessed with my breasts: since the swelling has decreased it feels like they are shrinking and I am afraid after 3 months nothing will be left. But I am still measuring 37.75"...

Thank you for the updates and advice, I'm in a similar predicament so your review is so helpful. I'm glad things are going well for you and you look great! How many CCs was it

Congrats! Went through the same procedure a few years ago. My implants were 30 years old, hard, and my natural breasts were sagging.
Dr. Gwen Maxwell of Tucson , AZ did the procedure. Took fat from my tummy and did a tuck. I love my body! Soft breasts, cleavage for the first time in years and a hard belly!

Yes, I did it a few years ago. Who knows what will come in the future for me! So I like to keep up on it! x
