Damaged physically, emotionally, and financially

I was a patient of Dr. Bednars that experienced an undesirable outcome with life altering complications. I have attempted to share my experience on their private Facebook group which is being used to help women view surgical results and make a decision if surgery with Dr. Bednar is right for them. However I was blocked/removed from the group so that I could not share my candid experience. My concerns about the risks associated with this procedure were minimized and I was given mind altering medications and not in a sober state during my very brief informed consent period prior to surgery. The entire experience felt very rushed and left me damaged physically, emotionally, and financially. There are serious risk to consider, necrosis and cysts happen as do infections and transferring large volumes of fat at one time can often lead to these negative outcomes.

Are those burns? I'm so sorry that happened to you
No these are not burns. This is an infection I got immediately following the breast fat transfer by Dr.Bednar. I called his office complaining that I felt like I had an infection and he minimized my concerns saying “it would be extremely unlikely” and prescribed me more pain meds, within 48 hours I was hospitalized in septic shock. It has been an extremely long road to recovery but I am finally able to share my experience so women are more aware of the risks associated with this surgery. I was told that if fat didn’t survive my body would just absorb it. The majority of my fat did not survive and I am left with huge golf ball and grape size lumps of necrotic fat. It’s difficult to see myself in the mirror
Oh wow I’m so sorry! I was deeply considering him but after hearing your experiences I don’t plan to. How are you today? I didn’t know an infection like that could happen with fat transfer where large visible wounds form from the infection. I thought any infection would be solely internal and not be visible like that. It looks extremely painful. It’s very disappointing to hear they removed you from the fb group and didn’t allow you to share your personal story. Dr. Bednar seemed so genuine, it’s very disappointing to see him only care for his image, more worried about that, than his patients and clients. Future clients as well. Trying to conceal what you went through and deliberately hide it…. As someone who would’ve been a future patient. This is very disappointing to hear. I can only imagine the feeling of going through this, going to post your traumatic experience, just to be blocked from what’s supposed to be a professional setting to share it. That’s just horrifying. I’m so so sorry you had to experience this and hope you’re doing much better more recently!
