Regret AlloClae – Painful Procedure, Persistent Lumps, and Poor Outcome
I really regret getting AlloClae and wish I had done more research beforehand. Ironically, I found multiple negative reviews immediately after I got home.
For context, I’ve had 2 rounds of breast fat transfer before, both with little to no fat retention after 3–4 months. I’ve also had years of experience with facial fillers without any issues, so I didn’t think much of trying AlloClae. I went to a board-certified surgeon who specializes in breast procedures, which made me feel more comfortable going in.
I had a total of 37.5 cc injected into each breast (3 boxes total, each box is 25 cc split into 2 vials). I was excited because AlloClae was marketed as something similar to fat grafting, but potentially more reliable.
The procedure itself was honestly terrible. It was done awake in-office (not in a surgical suite) with no pain control beyond local numbing injections. The numbing shots around the nipple area were already very painful, and the actual injection of the product created intense pressure that was extremely painful as well. I almost fainted afterward. It’s honestly misleading that this is marketed as a simple “in-office” procedure similar to fillers.
Recovery-wise, the next day I felt fine and was back to normal quickly, which was the only positive.
However, from the beginning I had lumps and bumps. I initially assumed it was swelling or that the product just needed time to integrate. But around 2–3 months post-op, the lumps became firmer and never went away.
Now at 5 months post-op, I still have multiple lumps throughout the upper pole and cleavage areas where the product was injected. They range from small pebble-like nodules to larger, elongated “sausage-like” lumps. They are noticeable under certain lighting and angles.
An ultrasound showed mostly fat necrosis with thin layers of oil cysts. My doctor drained one cyst, but it refilled the same night. The skin areas covering cysts are also discolored, likely from ongoing inflammation.
My surgeon’s only recommendation has been aggressive massage and “wait and see,” which is frustrating given how persistent this has been, and there doesn’t seem to be a clear plan for how to actually fix complications like this or who to go to for correction.
Yes, there is slightly more volume, but it hasn’t changed my bra size. It just fills out my bra more. And that volume is largely made up of lumps, fat necrosis, and cysts.
I was told this outcome is rare, but based on what I’ve seen on Reddit and RealSelf, that doesn’t seem to be the case.

Thank you for sharing. I recently got an explant and this was presented as a future option for me, as I have very little breast tissue and not enough body fat to do a fat transfer. Your review is very helpful as I consider/research.
I'm slender so don't have much fat to graft, and I really don't want to get an implant in my body, so similar to you, I was excited to hear about Alloclae.
Did your surgeon state why they think the Alloclae became mostly fat necrosis with oil cysts? I ask in case any info helps me decide if I should still pursue Alloclae. Would you be open to sharing who your surgeon was? Feel free to DM me. Thanks again.
