Fat Transfer to Breast and Lips, Dr Bednar, Charlotte, NC - Great Results So Far!

UPDATED FROM mm2017pnw
6 months post

Nearly at post op 6 months and retained almost everything!

WORTH IT$12,500
Things are still going great! Since I measured around 1-2 weeks post op, my BB measurements really haven't changed, which is amazing. Didn't lose anything in size. Just the shape (dropped) and they are super soft now. I'm solidly a 32DD bra in most brands (up from a 32B). Here are my current measurements/stats (check earlier review for pre-op):
Height: 5'5"
Weight: 122 lbs
Bra: 32DD (Victoria's secret, Lively, Free People)
Underbust: 28"
Overbust: 31.5"
Widest around bust: 36.5-37"
Waist: 25"
Hips: 36"
I'll try to post photos later this month.
The lipo areas are looking good. Nothing weird there. I did have a few lumps in the BBs that have softened with time. The smallest lumps (around the size of a pea) are nearly all gone. The larger lump in my right breast has gone from around an egg size to a walnut. Dr. B said to give it to 8 months-1 year post op for continued softening/diminishing. The lips are also doing great still. Maybe a tiny bit smaller but 100% better than prior to the FT. My bum is looking great too! Looks like I worked it out a ton without working out. haha!
Super happy with Dr. Bednar and his team and happy with the results!

Cannot wait for your photos! When have you noticed your lumps? Hope they will go away...
cant wait to see photos!
Hi! I live in Oregon too. I had a lumpectomy and then 6 months later had breast implants and fat transfer for size difference. My breast are now droopy and I am not happy with the shape. I was wondering what doctor you saw here in oregon and if you could post or send me a picture of your breast now? I am seriously thinking about going to Dr. Bednar. Would love any suggestions.
Old like to see recent photos? Congrats!
You look lovely. If you retained everything, how come you didn't upload photos this time? You posted great photos at 2 weeks but not now, at 6 months. How come?

I hope you are feeling well! I love his work but he is so far away from me, I am on the other side of the country. How far did you have to travel and was it hard? Also, just to be super nosey, how many areas did you have Lipod?
Hi Amber! Thank you! Recovery I feel like has been slow and some days are worse than others - just in the lipo areas and really just on my left side... and I get really tired and run down feeling, but I'm sure that it will start getting better soon! We were coming from Oregon so pretty far away too but I heard they've had patients from New Zealand, Asia, Canada and Europe. I will say the big tip is to pay for extra leg room on the flight home - that was worth it. Traveling there was not too bad - we took a red eye and got to our pre-op just in time at 10am. The flight back there was a delay, and that was rough and uncomfortable but the extra leg room helped and we took a chance and booked a window and aisle seat and no one booked the middle so I got two seats. :) He lipo'd my low back, the backs of my love handles and concentrated on the backs of my thighs and it looks like skimmed a little off the sides and insides of my thighs. No lipo on the front of my sides or my belly. I had originally wanted my low belly specifically lipo'd and was initially bummed after surgery to find out he didn't touch that area, but later he explained that he had maxed me out (I assume he means how much fat he could inject into the breast tissue) and that it's a good idea to save some fat, especially the low belly - in case I'd want to top off/add more in a second fat transfer later down the road. I guess for now, will just have to focus on my ab workouts once I get back into working out - haha!
Don't start working out too soon, you don't want to kill that precious fat! Thank you so much for answering my questions. I am just south of Seattle so about the same flight time. I feel very strongly that I don't want implants, so this is the route I am going to go too, and I know we have great doctors over here, but his just seem to consistently be amazing! I sure hope the pain subsides soon for you. I have heard lipo is by far the worst part. I have heard that they can give you Lyrica for a short time to help with nerve pain if it gets to be unbearable, and also lymphatic massages help with swelling and lumps......anyway, please keep us updated and happy healing
I'm definitely basking in the "luxury" of saying I'm not supposed to work out... I try to walk every day so I keep things moving but definitely not lifting anything heavy and no other "work out" movements. I've heard so many nightmare stories about implants so they were never an option for me - in addition, I have a couple autoimmune disorders so I just knew that would be a potential ticking time bomb - so the fat transfer was such a great option. I know it is a far ways to travel, but in all honesty, I think it was all worth it. Dr. Bednar's results are so consistent and great (across the board with all his procedures) ... it's such a big surgery touching so many major areas of the body that I didn't want to risk going to anyone but the BEST.

In addition, they have a Dr. Bednar fat transfer facebook group that has been SOOO great! If you look them up and request an invite by Sylvia, they have tons of past, current and future patients of his on their and it's like a big family. I posted an update there this morning on a Saturday and within minutes, Sylvia (Dr. Bednar's wife and patient coordinator) messaged me and said she contacted Dr. B to contact me about my leg pain (which I thought was nothing). Within minutes, he called me on his cell while off in the mountains and urged me to go to the ER and get an ultrasound because he wanted to rule out blood clots. I did just that and got home just a little bit ago to find tons of messages of caring and concern for me on the FB group and a message from Sylvia - and then Dr. Bednar called himself (probably close to 10pm his time) just to make sure I was okay - and YES, no blood clots and I was doing much better - got a new prescription from my in town doctor. Anyhow - that's just all to say that at Dr. Bednar's office, you are WELL taken care of all around from beginning to far beyond after surgery. I've read not the greatest things from other places about the lack of follow-up care, which scared me! And Dr. Bednar and his staff are 100%++++++
Well I am glad it's nothing, but better to be safe. That is amazing care! I will join the Facebook page. I have fibromyalgia, and I know myself, I would always worry about this foreign object in my body making me sick. I have read stories of women that had autoimmune reactions and that is not worth it to me.
That was a rambling comment, but I'm sure you can piece together I am talking about implants not being an option for me either......

so impressed.....was there any bruising after? did you only transfer to your lips or did also add to any other places in your face. LOVE
Thank you! There was the tiniest little bruise around the dimple area on the right side of my smile... something around half the diameter of a dime, so pretty small. It hung around from around day 4 - day 15 but nobody noticed it but me. It was really no big deal. I only had a fat transfer to my lips and breast. :) Really happy with the results so far.
any updates on breasts please?
can you please post more pre-op photos of your breasts? even in a tshirt..
Will you be giving an update on here soon?

Fat transfer to lip - LOVE the results - Thank you, Dr. Bednar!

I had a subtle fat transfer to my lips done at the same time I was under for the fat transfer to breasts and highly recommend it. I specifically asked Dr. Bednar to make it super subtle - I did not want huge, fake looking duck lips. He also said that he didn't want to do that and only would transfer a very small amount. He injected around 1 cc into each quadrant for around 4 ccs total. I had some upper lip asymmetry and over the years, a loss of volume and increased fine lines. I wanted to correct all this with the transfer without really changing my lips - I didn't want it to look obvious that anything had been done. Also, I have a couple autoimmune disorders so I've been scared at the thought of artificial injections so transferring my own fat was a great option for me! I didn't want the bee stung look - just more pillowy, softer and more youthful lips. My lips used to have zero projection. They were not thin when looking straight on - not super thick either. But from the side, there was no volume. Now, I have subtle projection - just enough to look pouty and not look crazy. I LOVE it! I had zero downtime with the lips. Zero pain... though I was pretty distracted on post op days 1-2 from the liposuction (that was quite uncomfortable) from my low back and thighs. There was a little bruise that surfaced around my dimple area on my face that is still lingering but it's hardly noticeable and no one has noticed except for me. The fat transfer to lips is supposed to be permanent, which is super great since with artificial fillers, you keep having to top off. There will be some loss just like normal lips with age... and some fat may die, but not all of it will ever go away so that's exciting! It was only $1,000 add on so really not that much more considering the entire cost of the fat transfer to breast. Also, I liked that the results were immediate. While my breasts are still softening, healing and fluffing, I can enjoy the immediate benefits of the fat transfer to lips! Thank you to Sylvia, Dr. Bednar and everyone at the Bednar office!

You look fantastic but I cant imagine where they got the fat from as your are/were so small! I am worried if I have enough but Im definitely bigger than you ...thanks so much for posting!
Thank you!!! If I'm honest with myself - I was/am a little skinny fat. I did workout regularly up until about 2 months prior to surgery (only stopped because I had my brows microbladed), but I think that helped build up my fat stores. Initially, I said no touchy the thighs, but Dr Bednar said that's some of the best fat, so I said that was okay and I think he got most of the fat off my thighs and a little from the love handles and low back. The thighs are so deceiving! You think they are solid - but apparently, mine were solidly fat. haha! Oh well - now that's all in my BB's anyway!
