Awake Breast Implant Removal and Fat Transfer

I can't say enough great things about Dr. Yovino and his team!! I underwent breast implant removal, precision sculpt awake liposuction with breast fat transfer (raise your cup), and could not be happier with my new body!
Not only is Dr. Yovino highly skilled but he genuinely cares about his patients and personally calls and texts you to follow up on your recovery. That’s amazing!! How many doctors these days take the time to check in on their patients?
After having my daughter, my 10-year-old 500 CC breast implants started to cause back pain and looked too big for my body. Nothing was fitting right and I wanted my implants out before trying for another baby but I was worried about how they would look upon removal. After researching and speaking with many doctors, I was thrilled to find Dr. Yovino and learn that I could undergo awake breast implant removal and liposuction to transfer unwanted fat from my problem areas to my breasts without the risks of general anesthesia.
My transformation was divided into two surgeries. I first underwent awake breast implant removal and waited 2.5 months to heal before moving forward with the lipo and fat transfer. Michelle, the surgical tech, was very sweet and helped calm my nerves the day of surgery. Dr. Yovino took his time with numbing and I can honestly say that I have had mole removals that were a more painful numbing experience than numbing my breasts prior to implant removal. I could not believe how smooth the recovery was and that I only needed pain killers on surgery day. I appreciated the fact that Dr. Yovino mentally prepared me that my breasts would not look the most aesthetically pleasing after removal but to be patient and let the skin retract. After about a month and a half, I was amazed to see them looking “normal” again. I went from a 32 DD to a 32 B after removal.
The awake lipo and fat transfer was more time-intensive (4-hour procedure vs 1 hour) but it was also a smooth surgery. I removed fat from my arms, waist, flanks, lower back, and back bra roll. I also wanted to remove fat from my legs but I appreciated the fact that Dr. Yovino recommended that wait because he could only transfer so much fat at once and he would run out of areas to harvest fat from should I want to go bigger down the road. Just like my removal, I only needed painkillers the day of surgery. After fat transfer my I went from a 32 B to a 32 C. The fat transfer helped even out and dimples I had after implant removal and increased my projection.
I also had Dr. Sarah Yovino treat my forehead and masseters with Dysport. I wish I lived in the LA area so that she could be my go-to! Ashleigh, the practice manager, was the sweetest and was incredibly helpful in booking me for my hyperbarics, ordering extra garments, and recommending hotels in the area. She never made me feel like I was annoying her with my questions!
I am so happy with my new body!! My back no longer hurts, I look great in form-fitting clothes, and feel more confident. I look forward to going back for a breast lift and leg lipo once I am done having kids!
