Hello all,
I have enjoyed reading all the feedback and heart felt stories by many other women. I have had implants for 18 years and they are beginning to become uncomfortable and painful. I have enjoyed the fullness and would like to continue some of that fullness with a procedure after the explant; just not sure which one is the best at this point. I am 60 years old and I'm sure with explant surgery my breasts will be extremely deflated even though I was a full "C" before augmentation. If any of you have had either surgery, uplift or fat transfer, I'd love to hear from you. I have an appointment with Dr. Kevin Tehrani in Great Neck after having read other reviews of his work. If any of you have had these procedures done with Dr. Tehrani, I'd love to hear from you.

Hello! How did you make out? I am struggling with the same question - 10 year old implant and I think one just ruptured. I have been reading so much about negative side effects of implants but I need to have a lift and a graft. Wondering what you ended up doing and your result. Thank you!

So I had my appointment with the kind Doctor Tehrani and he was wonderful. The entire staff was wonderful. The facility is very sophisticated and immaculate. The office manager was very helpful and really worked with us and our insurance. She was working very hard to see if the insurance would pay for the explant. She said that many of them will. Waiting to hear on that. Dr. Tehrani explained the difference between the breast lift and the fat transfer procedures. The only issue was that he said that he was glad to hear that I was interested in the lift because until he gets in there to see how much breast tissue I have, the results are not always pleasing to the patients with just the explant with no lift. I knew I was interested in the lift as well before going for the appointment. I have been researching these procedures and doctors for months. Getting a bit nervous since we were able to schedule it so soon but, I'm ready to feel natural again and not uncomfortable. I haven't ever been able to sleep comfortably on my stomach but my sides are not feeling uncomfortable as well. I'd love to hear from any one who has had any of the procedures or had Dr. Tehrani as their surgeon. Will keep you posted.

Wondering if you had surgery yet and if your were happy with your doctor.?!

I too am 60 and had 2 series of silicone implants, first set for 19 years,(1987-2006) explanted, waited and tried a fat transfer which was unsuccessful. Docs swayed me to go with implants again (2012)...big mistake, as my thyroid was a mess and had gut dysbiosis. So I explanted in a little over 3 years, fluffed for 3 months and then travelled to Bednar in North Carolina for a successful fat transfer. It has been 3 years and I am quite happy, very little necrosis and they retained most of the fat. I am thin and he was still able to extract 450cc I believe. You can see my pics. Best wishes. Kay

Kay,
Thank you for your response to my question. I have been contemplating this for a little over a year when I realized the fluffing was over and I was left with nothing in the upper pole, fine on the lower part of my breasts but just wanted to feel a little more like I did with implants. I refuse to get implants and could lose the belly fat, flanks. I too am not considered over weight but, can not get the midriff area down at all. Thank you for your candid response. I have a consultation with Dr. Tehrani on July 8th so, I will discuss with him what e thinks as well. Do you mind telling me where they harvested the fat and how long and uncomfortable the recovery was? Also, how long did you have to wear a compression garment? I have events upcoming and didn't want to be out of it or not able to attend due to extended recovery. Brazil60.

To my recollection, they harvested the fat from my knees, flags, some mama from my belly as they wanted the most efficacious fat cells that were not oil filled & considered most viable for retention. If you go back to my feed, you’ll see all the details of the journey of recovery, but I recall being uncomfortable for a couple of weeks, then wearing the compression garment For a solid 8 to 12 weeks and again, no compression on the breast tissue with very loose fitting bras if any at all. I Would advise you to continue to eat nutritionally dense foods, and as my doctor instructed, taking lots of anti-inflammatories with bromelain to reduce any inflammation at the time of the surgery. Hope this helps

Explant After 18 Years and Lift with Skilled Surgeon Dr. Kevin Tehrani

After months and months of pain and uncomfortable feeling it was time to remove the implants which were over the muscle, 325cc saline each. I researched so many doctors in NYC area and one name repeated over and over, Dr. Kevin Tehrani. I made the appointment and he was so patient and explained all the options. I knew I didn't want any more implants and felt he could work with what breast tissue I had. I had also seen videos of his work. I went into the operation 2 weeks later and he did the explant and lift. Pre-explant I was measuring 34DDD, after the surgery and to date I am a 34D with a push up bra. I am thrilled at the results and that I don't have to feel pain or uncomfortable and am natural.

Hello cuh53. I am now 11 months post op and I have been very happy with my results. At one point I was considering lipo and fat transfer to breasts but, after speaking to my husband, he was not thrilled with the idea and loves me just the way I am, all natural. I am currently measuring a 34D with a push up bra from VC and I'm fine with that. A lift is a personal choice, I just knew I would be so flat without one. Best of luck and I will keep positive vibes going your way.
