It's amazing how quickly time slips by. I've been keeping super busy but here are a few things I've learned:
1. Mepitac for your underboob. These two scars are the only two that I'm really worried about. The other scars are barely noticeable for me. I've used the scar cream and little else.
2. Regular exercise keeps your lipo areas from feeling sore
3. Cool it on the Victoria's Secret shopping spree!
After getting super pudgy during my 3 months of no exercise I gained a pants size or two but I've since slimmed down a bit. It's interesting how my waistline seems to stay relatively slim even when I'm sure that I should be packing on a little more weight.
New bra size: 32C
I'm actually pretty relieved that I didn't gain a cup size up to a D because I wasn't sure how to explain that to my friends and family out of nowhere. The increase is not extremely obvious, but just enough to give the hint of cleavage that I wanted. I also don't have to worry about not fitting in to half of my tops!
My only issues are that it is summer and so I've avoided wearing short shorts and the beach because the scars will show and are also more vulnerable to darkening in the sun. However I'm sure it will be worth the trade off in the long run. I look forward to seeing the scars fade into my new figure.

Hello 2 month mark! Thinks have been moreā¦
Hello 2 month mark! Thinks have been more or less the same since my procedure. I noticed that my boobs have definitely settled down now. They seem to have shrunk a little which I'm sad about but I was expecting. Still no real pain since the procedure although I did notice that they got a little sore during my period, which is normal.
Scars: I've been playing around with several different silicone scar sheets. What I've tried so far includes Scaraway Discs, Scaraway fabric backed sheets, Cicacare, and Mepitac. I saw a dermatologist regarding the scarring and he said that he doesn't even really believe that silicone has a huge impact on the outcome but I would rather try than never know so I've been plowing through these brands. A few notes on these products:
1. Scaraway Discs: I love these guys but they tend to fall off if you move your limbs excessively. even the ones I put under my genie bra tend to bend up out of the crease so I tried taping them down and it's a pain.
2. Scaraway Sheets: nice, but you're supposed to reuse them and once they have a small buildup it's hard to get off and they lose their stickiness. Which is especially annoying for areas like under your bum, which is in constant motion. I tried using medical tape to keep them in place but you can only tape the area so many times before your skin gets irritated (imagine ripping a bandaid off again and again)
3. Cicacare: the stickiest but I can't figure out how to stick these on my butt without them sticking to the toilet seat or without the one on my back sticking to the spanx. They're great for the underboob area though.
4. Mepitac: I slapped some of these on tonight, I'll update on them next post!
Aside from the scarring, I've also consulted a dermatologic surgeon regarding what can be done. Mine recommended that I wait until the 8-12 week window and to return for microneedling, which I just had a few days ago. Ooooof did it sting! However I can already feel the difference in my scars. Prior to the microneedling I could feel the tissue like a small fibrous lump beneath each scar. Although the skin now has fresh wounds from the microneedling, I can no longer feel those lumps! He said to return in 6 weeks for a second round if necessary, which I will follow up for.
Confessions: I had a small sip of whiskey and I went out clubbing, which is definitely not within the recommended exercise guidelines of "no alcohol" or "keep your heartrate down". Silly of me to risk it but it doesn't seem like I had any dramatic sudden changes so far! (Thank God)
I'm so eager to reach the 3rd month and have a real drink and hit the gym!

Thanks for posting the info on the scar treatments! I'm having the same problem with the scar away sheets. I've must have gone through a dozen in the first day trying to get them to stay. The ones on the butt crease are a mess! So far, I'm getting at least 24 hours out of them (with waterproof bandaids keeping them on) before they retire. And taking a shower with them on is completely futile. I'm thinking of trying some natural methods to see what helps, but for now, I'll keep trying with the sheets since they were so expensive! I only got cream from the office? Must be an out of towner perk... also, didn't get a genie bra. I was on my own with that. I bought a L and XL in a soft bra brand and so far I haven't moved from the XL, I feel like the L might compress them too much. Anyway, glad to hear you are healing well! I'm ready for the 3rd month too:)
hmm maybe they ran out of the bras, but yes! sizing up seems the way to go, a L definitely seems too small since you had much more transferred (holy moly i'm so jealous that he was able to transfer so much for you!). It feels weird to wear a large in anything after wearing a small my entire life though haha. As for the scars...Maybe you could try ebay, it takes a little while to ship but I found all of these products for a LOT cheaper than my local drugstores :) I think I'll be alternating between the Mepitac and Scaraway round discs for now, but Mepitac seems like it may be the winner if you'd like to pick up a box and try them with me! They are supposed to be waterproof and although this first time they peeled off my butt a little they held up with just a little tape as opposed to the scaraway discs which had me taping half my butt down lol
hello! can you please please update us on your progress?
how are your breasts looking now? what bra size do you wear now?
how are your breasts looking now? what bra size do you wear now?
They look so natural! They are not as full up top but I think that's really due to the shape of my body more than anything. I am now a 32C
I am curious about the scarring. Is it really that bad?
At this point in time it really doesn't seem like it will be bad at all. I think they will be almost invisible!

26 year old breast fat transfer slim 32a
I've waited a while to write my review for Dr. Bednar because I didn't want to get ahead of myself! I still haven't fully recovered from my procedure but I'm just about there and I'm so pleased with the results. I feel obliged to post here because RealSelf has been such an enormous help to me in finding the right procedure and the right doctor. I will most likely NOT be posting any photos of my body because I don't feel comfortable with it, but I will provide some details regarding my procedure for anybody who would like some insight!
Prior to procedure: 110 lbs, 5'2", barely a 32aa or 34a.
405cc added to each breast. Taken from thighs, love handles, abdomen.
A quick review of what I've done so far:
1. Wished for boobs every time I wished on a star since age 15.
2. Researched breast augmentation. breast implants vs a fat transfer? Breast implants seemed like the way to go until I read about health problems that could persist afterwards, as well as additional procedures to replace the implants. I opted for a fat transfer. Yes this is an experimental procedure...or is it? Fat grafts have been around for ages, although reserved for breast cancer patients. I guess aesthetic breast fat transfers are still relatively new, but they appealed to me the most.
3. I asked a few realselfers about how real their implants feel and the answer is "almost". I looked at a million pictures of boobs and they look great but surreal. I only wanted something small, ideally a B/C. Implants seemed like overkill. I also intend to have children and a fat transfer has no predicted complications when it comes to breastfeeding so voila my choice is clear.
4. Dr. B has stellar reviews and I really must thank SilkSpectre for her thorough review which helped me plan my trip successfully. I planned my trip from 1/16-1/20 with no hiccups.
Before this procedure I was a gym rat. Maybe not a body builder but I went to the gym 3x per week for about an hour and a half each time. I stopped about 7 days before this trip and started eating like crazy because I realized that maybe I should pack on some pounds to make it easier to find some fat. (Dr. B said this wouldn't have really made a difference though).
Prior to the trip to Charlotte:
1. Lots of research. SCHEDULE YOUR APPOINTMENT TO HAPPEN RIGHT AFTER YOUR PERIOD ENDS. you do not want to deal with all of this business while you're bleeding at the same time. I found an airbnb as close as possible to the office (by the way if you're like me and hire one of their nurses to stay with you try to find a place with a sofa or extra bed so she doesn't have to sit in a hard chair while waiting for you to wake up). I also looked up a pharmacy that took my insurance and grocery store near the airbnb. I did not rent a car, I just used uber and each ride was less than $15 except the one from the airport.
2. Received a package in the mail with vitamin supplements, arnica cream, a genie bra, some silicon tape, and a packet of directions and prescriptions. There's also a list of medications you cannot take. I don't take any medications so none of this was really an issue for me. The arnica and bra are for after the procedure. Prescriptions: Norco, Diazepam, Keflex, Ondansetron, Promethazine. I only needed the first three because I had no nausea.
About my trip to Charlotte:
1/16: checked into my bnb. left my luggage and went grocery shopping for a few days worth of food including soup, snacks, and tea. I bought plastic bags and alcohol to mix together and make a slushy mix to use as ice pakcs (it's in the packet of directions). I also bought Florastor because I tend to have yeast infections if I'm on antibiotics for too long and they give you a week of Keflex. It's recommended to have a high protein diet so I picked up some quinoa and salmon with avocados. yum! I filled my prescriptions at the supermarket too so it was an easy task. My preop came next, they take photos and have Dr. B take a quick look at you. Everybody in the office was welcoming and sweet. I'm sure they have a lot of patients coming in with anxiety and a laundry list of questions so I really respect them and their patience.
1/17 8:00AM my procedure. I brought my meds as instructed and they have you pop a few pills, Sou and Kendall were very attentive and got me prepped. You get introduced to the anesthesiologist (I forget his name but he was also great) who tells you about what to expect. An IV here and I climbed up on the table, then I fell asleep. I don't know where Dr. B finds his staff but each one of them is really amazing.
1/17 5:00pm? I don't remember exactly what time I woke up but I think this sounds about right. I surprised my nurse Melissa, who was more used to patients waking up around 9pm. I woke up hungry and made some tea, she helped me get cups from the higher shelves and open my pill bottles--darn these childproof caps! We watched some Netflix and tried to figure out how to use the TV in the bnb. I had very little drainage although she had set up the bed with pads in case there was anything that leaked. I woke up in compression garments and an ace bandage wrapped tightly around my chest.
1/18: I switched the ace bandage out for the genie bra. norco throughout the day as needed and diazepam to help me sleep mostly because the compression garment is uncomfortable.
1/19: Netflix and Chill, same as 1/18. I spent my time cooking and on my laptop, then packed up my suitcase to prepare for my departure.
1/20: finally allowed to shower! I applied arnicare as I changed into the new compression garment. My body was swollen and bruised but that was expected. I had cannulas beneath each butt cheek, lower back, both sides of pelvis, and under each breast. I also stopped by Dr. B's office one more time but there wasn't really much left for them to do. I flew home and had one more rest day before going back to work. Work was tough but bearable. I don't recommend that you anything aside from the Keflex and vitamins during work, you'll be too sleepy. Regular Tylenol!
1/21: 1 week out. The compression garments sucks and it's itchy but I endured it. If you're as itchy as I am try putting a cotton fabric in between your body and the garment (I didn't find this out until much later). I bought pants a larger size than I usually wear for work so that the garment would fit. (THIS IS IMPORTANT because I read another girl's review where she wore tight pants and left a dent in her tummy because of the pressure.) Going to the bathroom is a little annoying because the crotch hole is so small but no pain no gain.
1/28: 2 weeks out. I got the okay to switch to spanx. (they want you on 4 weeks of compression in total, ideally 2 weeks of the garment and then 2 weeks of the spanx) I used the higher power capri off of amazon and ripped 3 pairs. Thank god for the return policy on amazon prime. I ordered some off of ebay too. I got confused at this point as to where I needed compression because these only really compress up to mid thigh and bought leggings too that I wore over the spanx because they were too loose alone. It was a cold winter so 3 layers of clothing worked fine for me.
Sutures: I tried snipping them but gave up when they hurt a little at any teasing. Instead I put bandaids over them to avoid having them catch on the spanx. I still have been sleeping slightly elevated.
2/17: 1 month! I don't really need any meds at this point except the diazepam (I'll take half a tablet) because I get a little itchy or the genie bras feel too constricting. The bruising is very faint. Dr. B told me my retention is about as good as it gets. You can't wear underwire bras until the 3 month mark. but I did drop by a few clothing stores and it looks like I'll be a 34B or C cup. My band size will probably drop down a little when I get back to my usual gym routine.
Side note: I saw a few other doctors who were impressed by Dr. B's work. I think he either took very little from the abdomen or none at all, which is ideal because it can cause grooving in your tummy. My sutures also healed very nicely.
Bras: I bought 5 genie bras off amazon/ebay, Size L because the medium was too tight. For some reason they feel the same as the Medium from the office though.
Scars: Dr. B provides scar cream and silicone strips. You're supposed to use the cream for 12 hours and the strips for 12 hours. I lost the strips by accident but bought scaraway disks and also the scaraway fabric strips from my local drugstore instead. Both seem to have trouble sticking so I taped them in place with bandaids and/or medical tape.
Boobs: I'm happy that they look so natural, I'm just worried about the scarring but it's really too soon to tell at this point.
Hope this helps for any of you considering this treatment! xoxo
