I am a mum of two children, I have breastfed both for about 2 years. My breast is empty, hanging and I am very depressed about the way it looks. I have decided to have implants and apparently I need a lift too. My operation is in two weeks. I am very nervous about it but I look forward for it. I have had my first two appointments with Dr William van Niekerk, one in October and one last week in March. I have seen other doctors before, but I knew he is my doctor because he shows a lot of interest, tries to get you the best result, the best look.

Get more opinions. I think that you could fix the droopiness with a large enough implant. Also, don't get cohesive gel. They do not look good in any position except standing. I'm getting ready to take out my 2 yr old cohesive gel implants and exchange for regular silicone.

Ah ok... I am not sure which one I am having, just emailed the assistant to ask. Oops... I thought I knew everything and all is under control..

Operation Day

Mastopexy and implant 290 cc, moderate, cohesive silicon gel, under muscle. Arrived in hospital St John London at 12 with my friend. Beautiful hot sunny day. Hospital staff amazing! Really funny and welcoming. Felt really looked after. The anaesthetist really funny man, made me laugh so much. Very good in what he was doing today. Dr William Van Niekerk arrived and has made marks on my body, took photos. Very kind man and very professional. At 3 o'clock I went down to the operation theatre where very quickly I was given the injection and put under total anaesthetise. I remember waking up with two lovely ladies who were very kind to me and made me laugh. They told me it was about 19:30. I was very sick trying to vomit all the time till about 23:00. Doctor Van Niekerk came to see me and said everything went really well. Look forward to see myself. It is very painful at the moment and I only managed to eat something very little at about 23:00 o clock. Very hard to sleep, but I had few snoozes on my back. My chest hurts a lot. This is my day one so far.

First day after surgery

flonanouk
Been very sick yesterday after surgery because of the anaesthetic. Couldn't eat anything till very late 23:00...Slept on and off.. Staff here in St John and St Elizabeth were amazing. Really well looked after. Managed a bit of breakfast today but feeling very dizzy and weak. My blood pressure was 89 with 47 but now went up to 93 with 54. I would recommend anyone Dr William Van Niekerk he was amazing so far and MyBreast clinic. Also I must find the name of my anaesthesiologist he was so funny and kind, also I did not feel any pain when he put me to sleep. Normally my shoulder will hurt like hell, but he is such a good anaesthesiologist! Cannot wait to see the scars and my new pair of breasts.

Hi hun!! Congrats on your surgery. The anesthesia can really cause sickness for the first day or so.....while it leaves the body. Im glad you have a good staff looking after you. Please keep us posted on your progress.,,,,and congrats again. :)

Thank you. I will keep you posted. I am in great pain at the moment like a truck drove on top of my chest. Sometimes I forget I am not allowed to put my hand up and I do it without thinking and then hurts like hell. I haven't been to toilet properly for two days now, I got IBS too so my belly hurts as much as my chest.

Hang in there!!!! The first week is so hard. Just take it one hour at a time. The meds, and the anesthesia mess with the body so much...and if you have IBS already. Im so sorry!!! You will get though this,,,and in the end,,,you will be very happy!!!
