WORTH IT
I remember the moment I realised I was pregnant.
I remember the moment I told my partner that I thought I was having twins.
I remember the look of his face when a week later our sonographer confirmed it by ultrasound.
I remember being so proud of my bump and elated in watching it grow.
I remember it continuing to grow 2 beautiful healthy girls to full term and birthing them at 7lbs each.
I remember when I first walked into the bathroom and seeing my body in the mirror after my c-section.
I remember the shock, dread and disappointment at seeing my deflated, stretched, sagging, gaping stomach and angered at how no one told me about this part.
I remember devoting 2 years of myself to breastfeeding my daughters.
I remember when I first started seeking a surgeon to trust with a mummy makeover...
After a consult with another surgeon I met Dr Watts in his rooms and instantly felt at ease. The rooms were clean, the decor tastefully minimalist, the space aesthetically pleasing and the receptionist was warm and friendly.
Dr Watts guided me into his office and went through in great detail what I was looking for and how he could assist me. My interactions with his nurses were comfortable, warm and grounded. I was given every bit of time required to cover everything I wished to know. I left knowing I wanted to go ahead with Guy, however I wanted my partner to meet him as well. In time we rebooked another consult and went through most of the same process as before, except with my partner this time. Again, I was made feel welcome, comfortable, respected and informed. At this stage we confirmed we wanted to proceed and the wheels were set in motion.
I booked the surgery date and off we went to prepare for the day.
At my pre-op appointment, again I was welcomed warmly and given ample time to discuss and detail everything about the surgery, after care and of course breast sizing. It was all very real at this point and I felt comfortable and fully trusting of Guy and his keen eye for aesthetics, his knowledge, professionalism and warm, down to earth bedside manner.
Days before my surgery I had a phone call from the hospital which revealed that they hadn’t updated my private health details and had assumed I was covered. In a stressful quandary, not knowing if my surgery could proceed at this point due to unaccounted for expense, I called Dr Watts rooms and Ashleigh the Practice Manager took her time with me and went through all the possible outcomes and approaches to the issue. She was so professional, empathetic and also called the hospital on my behalf. That evening I received contact from her that she had found a way to work around the issue and that she could go through it in the morning. When I spoke with her it was like a breath of fresh air, having spent the night disappointed and uncertain, hearing her resolution was such a relief and an excitement for me, the surgery was going ahead!
Surgery day! It was an early one and it was a very long day of surgery. I met with Guy in the pre-op theatre and he greeted me warmly and calmly proceeded with marking me up. I knew that I had chosen the right surgeon, in his manner, his accuracy and precision and care he was taking with markings. Prior to a previous breast surgery I had, with another surgeon, many years before, I was rushed into a gown, marked up sitting down in a slap dash manner with 5 or 6 people around and wheeled off into the theatre. My experience couldn’t have been more different with Guy, where he took his time, he clearly cared about the surgery he was about to perform and just through casual conversation coming to understand what he is all about further confirmed my decision to choose him.
Dr Watts aligns himself with Dr Hoppe, Anaesthetist, who is lovely! He had called me as well a couple of days before the surgery to go through everything that would happen on the day. I felt completely informed, safe and comfortable the whole time.
12 hours later I emerged from the theatre. The nurses had informed me the duration of time I was in for, and why. I went into the surgery knowing the right breast was presenting with multiple issues requiring revision. Dr Watts had completed the surgery and on sitting me up on operating table had decided to unstitch and re-do it. I deeply appreciate the level of time and care he was prepared to dedicate to my outcome. He holds his standards to an extremely high level and that I wouldn’t want a plastic surgeon who is an ‘OCD Perfectionist’ said NO-ONE EVER!
I remember when Dr Watts showed me a photo of my new tiny waist and breasts - is that even me?!
My aftercare was second to none, I’ve never experienced such a strong and personal follow up from Dr Watts himself and his wonderful nurse Emma. I was visited in hospital multiple times by Guy, and also by Dr Hoppe and Emma.
All of my post op care was seen through with constant communication, care and attentiveness. Any questions, concerns, or queries were promptly answered and met with warmth, sound advice and a shared excitement for my results. This along with a real, and open opportunity to express honestly any uncertainties I had throughout the duration of my healing.
I can not describe to you how transformational this experience has been. After nearly 4 years from falling pregnant, I’m feeling sexy, empowered, self-expressive, both physically and emotionally and I’m buying clothes that actually relate to me for the first time since before I was pregnant!
My partner is blown away and stoked with the results, he literally says my boobs are the best thing he’s ever seen and he loves to see me walking with a spring in my step and a confidence he hasn’t seen in me since we first met.
All in all, I can wholeheartedly say I highly recommend Guy and his team, I literally would have no need to look anywhere else (but if u do, you will see he is incomparable). He has gone above and beyond and in turn, I will be a client for life, I am a true advocate for his work.
A sincere Thankyou Guy & Team
Everything I went through to make this happen made me realise how much I am worth it. As a result, this realisation has made me tune into to myself and how important self-care is on a level I wasn’t giving myself before. You may or may not realise it yet, but you are worth it too xx
