Don't Wait! I'm 59 and Thrilled I Just Had my BA

WORTH IT$6,500
Im a 59 year old mother of 6 (!). I breast fed all of my children. Raised then as a single mom and always wanted larger breast. I've never been larger then probably a 34a... except when breast feeding. I looked into having a BA about 10 years ago but felt spending the money on myself with 6 kids to raise want a good choice, (regret I didn't just do it!). I'm a young 59yr old...IMO..LOL. I've been married now for 2 years to a12yr younger man. And he has never once complained about my breast. One of my friends just had her BA a few months ago and i happened to say i might want to have one... hubby was supportive..lol. but he was fine either way. I researched doctors in my area and found mine. Just to have a consultation the wait was 2 months and procedure another 2 months out. But it showed me that this doctor was very sought after. To my surprise someone cancelled and I went in for consult only after 4 weeks. At first trying on sizers they all felt HUGE. My BWD is 14.5. And I did all my research on BWD, and what would be appropriate. My friend I mentioned earlier, got 400cc. So when the doctor suggested in the 500s I was shocked, (Before research). Come to find out for my BWD I could go from 450-650. Im glad I had time before my BA date because I changed my mind several times on what cc's I wanted. I brought my 29yr old daughter to a sizing appt. And together we thought the 565cc looked great on me. And when we left my daughter made an appt for HER consult! Fast forward...So yesterday was my surgery!!! Dr.Smith discussed sizing and said he would not make me look odd or top heavy or MATRONLY (my concern). That he would most likely be putting in 565 SRF, but would try on several before making the decision. I trusted him completely. In I go. Nurses are super nice. In fact through chatting I found out one lived down my street.... she gave me her personal number. IV was in and the anesthesiologist explained everything. I knew the procedure would take about an hour. She said good night. The next thing I remember was waking up. First thing I asked was what size I got.... 605cc. I was actually happy about that because I've heard 90% of patients wish they went bigger! And at my age I really didn't want to have a revision. Last night I woke up like clock work coffe my pain meds. It wasn't really that bad but I wanted to stay on top of it. Ladies here is a huge tip!!!.....I have one of those pregnancy pillows... the large one that is like a cocoon ....I LOVE IT...I had several other pillows tucked under my head and on each arm . I put one under my knees. I felt SO comfortable and hugged! I was at the perfect angle that the doctor wanted me, 45 degree. I know I'm rambling.... maybe it's the meds or that I'm so excited to finally have boobs!! This morning they are swollen, hard as rocks and very high... all normal at this point. I will try and post a before soon.

It’s great seeing a review from a tall girl! I’m 5’9 also and all the reviews I see are of petite ladies. It’s hard to picture 500cc + on me without a good comparison. I’m excited to follow your journey!

Oh how exciting! Food for you.
No need to shy away because of age or CC numbers!
You have tons of changes ahead. Keep in touch with your doc and nurses, ask questions, do what Doctor orders, and don't isolate...and you'll be on the recovered side before you know it!
It takes a full year usually to see totally final results. In 6 months, you'll have a good idea what you'll look like though. Just be patient. Document your changes via pics (weekly or biweekly is good) and measuring yourself is another good way. There can help you to see the verifiable proof of your positive changes, even when it's hard to see them every day! I have a post with great detail on measuring and all of that fun stuff if you're interested.
Welcome to the other side! The hard part is over! Just recover and be happy now!
(And a bit of helpful advice: do not spend a bunch of money on bras for at least a few or 6 months. You'll change too much to use them for very long. Unless they are adjustable bras, it's literally throwing money away.)
Have a boobtastic day!!

It's been 9 weeks and they are awesome now! It took about 6 to 7 weeks to start looking good

Yeah. Mine looked crazy for about 6-8 weeks. Then they looked normal. A couple months after that all the fluffing really happened/started. It's so unpredictable how each body will react to the new boobies.
I'm glad you're enjoying them now! It is such a crazy ride after the surgery.
Enjoy them and take care of them!!!

That's how it goes! Every day is better...and then you're finished! Good times. Just enjoy it. And document your progress for the days when you feel like it's taking too long. Proof in pictures really helps.
Have a boobtastic day!!!

DAY 5 PO... IT'S SOOOOOO MUCH BETTER NOW

User Avatar

Ok, I'm 59 years old (39 in my mind), mother of six breast fed kids. My BWD are 14.5. Before BA 34A maybe 34B at most. I let my doctor choose the final outcome of cc. I was learning towards 350-400 my first appointment but each appointment those numbers went up! I decided iliked the look of 550....Doc said he could do 560 or 605... most likely wouldn't do the 605. I woke up with 605 and so glad he did!!! They were and still are very swollen... and SQUARE. I was cleared today to start massage and wear the strap at the top. The oxycontin was taking the pain away but hyping me up so not sleeping. Now I have valium starting tonight. I can't wait for them to drop and fluff!!!! I've been over doing things and a sharp pain near my left incision is is still there. Doc said not to worry. Wish i would have done this year's ago... but better late then never.
