Timely "Retirement"
I originally went to his office for a breast augmentation consultation in August 2019 became he was listed as a certified provider for the Ideal Implant. The office was empty except for a few staff members. I thought this was because of the later appointment time but I should have realized the pattern when the place was empty at every single visit thereafter. For the consultation, I was placed in a very outdated small room and directed to watch an old video on a VHS-combo television. The sales consultant was nice and as was Dr. Galumbeck but it was as if he read a robotic script when he came in to "meet" me. It was hurried but I was focused and let it slide. I was informed that the II was backordered due to manufacturer's issues and opted for silicone instead. Perhaps there should have been another red flag when surgery dates were available a mere 2 weeks after the consultations. Nonetheless, my blind excitement pushed things forward. The pre-op appointment featured an equally brief cameo by the doctor. I was informed here that he does not do implants of different sizes to account for asymmetry. There were no measurements taken and there was no computerized before and after. I was also overcharged by $1K this day. That was fixed with a quick phone call on the next business day. The actual surgery day was a breeze. Some things again appeared outdated but it was clean and orderly. Post-op appointments were not well-explained. I came in to what I thought was a post-op appointment with the doctor only to be told that I would be there for more than an hour for a chamber treatment. I did appreciate the prophylactic ultrasound treatments. And I enjoyed every interaction with one of the nurses. Again, there was virtually no client traffic at any of my appointments. Then, I got a call that my two-month post-op appointment would need to be rescheduled due to "water damage" that was supposedly sustained to the building though they stated they would be taking patients for very limited morning hours which was impossible for a working person's schedule. They tried to accommodate and scheduled me for almost four months post-op. One week before this appointment, I get a call that Dr. Galumbeck is retiring out of the blue and can only be seen during a three-hour window on one morning. Again, impossible. No referring providers. No explanation. The consultant laughed on the phone as she relayed this information though she stressed that she had just lost her job. Overall, extremely suspicious and I should have heeded the aforementioned warnings. I will say that I am overall satisfied with my surgical results though I believe the pockets maybe could have been placed or released better to encourage more dropping as I still have disproportional upper pole fullness 3.5 months post-op. Best of luck to the one nurse I enjoyed chatting with. Good riddance to the very shady cloud surrounding that building. On to research how to establish follow-up care with competent, new BC plastic surgeons...
