Breast augmentation at The Sib clinic with Dr Darin Moungthai

Breast augmentation at The Sib clinic with Dr Darin Moungthai

$10,000
I did my BA at The Sib clinic with Dr Darin Moungthai 7 months ago. I wasn't prepared to write a review on RealSelf but after reading some Google reviews written by patients from The Sib Clinic, I feel the need to write an honest review here. The sib clinic is in Bangkok but they receive a lot of international patients, and I'm one of them. Their Instagram and Facebook accounts all show beautiful results of patients, especially for the breast augmentation surgery. I booked in a BA surgery with Dr Darin on Dec 2017, but I was traumatised with the whole experience. The Nurses were quite friendly and they told me I will get a consultation before the surgery, but on the same day of my surgery. I expected at least a 30 minutes consultation with Dr Darin, but it didn't happen. I was ushered to the operation room right away and it was only in the operation room when I first met Dr Darin. Everything was so rushed! The "consultation" took place in the operation theatre and it only took 5 minutes, if not lesser. Dr Darin seems really impatient and just insisted on the size of implants, without even discussing with me. At last we went for 350cc but I wanted a 450cc. I wanted to tell her that I want the implants close together (to create a cleavage) and I wanted to show her some pictures but there wasn't enough time for anything. She refused to listen to me at all all and refused to even look at the pictures I have in my phone. Within 3 minutes after meeting her, dr Darin quickly got me onto the operation bed and started putting me under general anaesthesia. I remember helplessly lying on he bed, praying everything to turn out well.

That wasn't all. I woke up and I was told my heart beat was slow, so I had to stay overnight at the clinic. But no, I have to pay for the overnight stay and it was about 250USD, which includes a bed and some instant porridge for my meals. Oh and not to mention, I only got 2 cup of water for the whole day. A nurse was there to accompany me but most of the time she was sleeping and she couldn't understand English. At night, the nurse wasn't there at all. I was in the room alone, feeling uncomfortable and it was really terrifying!

The worst part of my experience is the COST. I was told the surgery was 80000 baht, but I have to go back every 2-3 days after the surgery to get my wound dressed. Each time, the clinic will give me some useless medicine (like additional painkillers) and there's an extra fee to each visit to the clinic. In the end, I paid almost $10000 USD for my breast augmentation. It turned out ok, but the scars are horrendous. Dr Darin did not care about me and didn't give me any silicone tape/ cream after the surgery. It was only after 4 months when I returned to Bangkok, they told me it was a keloid and started giving me some silicone sheets for the scar. Of course, the scars were already quite bad. And the silicone sheets came in an extra charge of $200USD.

I read some reviews of international patients at Sib clinic and I feel like this clinic is trying to rip off money from international patients. They may be nice and charge a lower price to Thai patients, but if you're an international patient like me, I advise you to choose another clinic. I'm still very upset with my scars. They are huge, red and ugly and it's already been 7 months since the operation. Doing some laser now to remove the scars Sigh.
