I have been following Dr. Placik on social media for several years, and always thought he would be my surgeon once I was ready to proceed with the B.A.
I decided it was time... Time to consult. Before scheduling a consultation I asked a few questions to get an idea of time and fees/payments. I wanted to know how soon were consultations schedule and how soon would the surgery be scheduled after the consultation. I was advise that consultations are usually 4-6wks out and surgery is scheduled typically a month after sometimes sooner. I was amazed with their timing. I believed I called like 2x before I deciding to schedule the consultation. I was able to schedule my consultation within 2wks from my call.
My consultation was on 2/19/19, I was nervous but overall the consultation was great. You first view a video that provides a lot of answers, then u meet with a nurse and try on sizers. The Dr comes in after to measure you and advise what additional procedures he may need to do if any. Lastly you meet with the coordinator to go over fees and scheduling. Since I wanted to have a second opinion I did not schedule the surgery as it requires a $500 fee. But I was advise that there was availability and can definitely schedule my surgery by the end on March.
I decided to go with Dr. Placik; I called on 3/4/19 to schedule my surgery but it turns out there were no appointments until May 9th. I was bummed, the coordinator and staff made it seem so simple and that there were plenty of openings... this is where I started becoming unhappy with the customer service; not the Dr. That day 3/4/19 I was suppose to receive an email for the CC authorization form and did not. I allowed an additional day as we all know work can get busy, but nothing. I called the office on 3/6/19 and was able to have a different staff member send it to me, instantly.
I don’t want to complain even though I am upset from today’s event, but this is more so fort anyone that is going to schedule with Dr. Placik to schedule your appointment right there and then. Don’t let them make you believe that u can schedule it later and that availability would still be there. I received a call from the coordinator today around 9:50am I was advise that 2 openings become available for surgery either the 8th or 18th of this month, if I wanted to change my scheduled date, of course I wanted to say yes but realistically I had to check my work schedule. She stated to think about what date and to call her back today. I checked my PTO and was able to arrange for the 18th (PTO approved and all) so I called her back literally 1hr and 10mins from her call to proceed with the 18th... it turns out that both appointments were booked that she did not know how it happened but they were no longer available. I can understand they can get booked but if she would have told me to choose one any date just to set it aside and to get back to confirm it, it would have been a different expectation. She said to think about and to get back, I did an hour later! Now keep in mind she has told me from the day I decided to go with the B.A. that there’s no other availability other than the 9th of May, she was able to reschedule me for the 2nd of May. I’m afraid she may have not even change it. But I’ll let be.
