Not Impressed with my Results, and the Way He Handled the Situation...
i am currently over 6 months post op. this was the first surgery i've ever had, and i made sure to tell everyone in the office so that they knew i was extremely nervous.
my first impression of dr. mustafa was excellent. he seemed to know what he was doing, granted he spent a total of 10 minutes with me before he decided the size/shape etc. which i just chalked down to experience.
surgery went well, i went home the same day with a prescription some meds. i had my first post op appointment the next day so that they could check my incisions. again, spend a total of 5 minutes in the building, 1 of those minutes with the dr himself.
my next post op was at 6 weeks. i had already found small issues with my implants, but i was prepared to hear that i just needed to wait more time. i voiced my concerns with him at the appointment, to which he completely shrugged off and said 'no one will notice'. definitely not the response i was looking for. i ended up doing my own research and came to the conclusion that maybe i just needed to wait more time. it was still early and hopefully when the skin settles/stretches it will look more how i want it to.
6 months post op, im still having the same issues, if not worse. i have emailed him several times, simply just looking for reassurance and to schedule an appointment to voice my concerns and i'll give him a chance to put my concerns to rest. instead, he replied to my email extremely rude, said 'didn't we already talk about this?' and telling me that performing a surgery to fix the issue would 'cause more scar tissue' - isn't it up to ME whether i opt for a surgery to make the appearance more to my taste?
not only all of this, but i've asked for my pre-op pictures several times up to this point and they keep dodging my requests.
i would be fine if he told me that i have to wait, to keep being patient and that if later on down the road i'm still unhappy, then we can do something about it. but instead he tells me there's nothing 'visually wrong' even though there are obvious issues and to essentially 'get over it'.
i'm extremely disappointed with how he handled the situation. i understand that the issue itself isn't necessarily his fault, there are many factors to play, but at least a LITTLE accountability, or at least take a moment to LISTEN to my concerns instead of dismissing them completely.
i have already contacted another surgeon and had a consult, and they agree that the concerns i have are valid and we will be scheduling a revision soon.
