8/8/2023 I found this site so incredibly helpful for me that I wanted to post on my own experience. First, a huge thank you to all of the women who have taken time to share you own stories and journey!

Background: I am 51 and I am about a large A, cup small B, you can judge for yourself, I am really unsure:) I wanted a VERY natural look so that no one would really know except me and a few friends who were excited to go on this journey with me. My breasts looked like the air was out of the tires. I just wanted to have them a little bigger and fill out what I had.

After several consults with my surgeon (she was great) we landed on a Mentor moderate plus silicone between 170 up to 205 max. This was based on my frame and diameter of around 10. I had read about some women who went small had a little boob envy could have gone bigger, so last minute I was wondering if I should go to my higher range but I told her to use her judgement on the most natural (I emphasized natural A LOT).

I have attached before photos. I am having surgery this week and I will post. I'm excited and nervous!

The day of the surgery was a breeze for the most part. My surgeon ended up going with 150 cc (smaller than what we thought with the 170 - 205 range). Before surgery, I told her to go with the most natural. I was a little surprised when she told me she went with 150 (Mentor MemoryGel Smooth Moderate High Profile Xtra) since it was smaller than what we discussed but as you can see from the Day 1 photos, they look huge (for me)! She did an over-the-muscle procedure. Based on my size, I guess this is referred to a min boob job if it is under 200 cc. I know the swelling will go down and they will settle, so I'm honestly not really even paying much attention to them other than giving them lots of care. I will post additional updates in a few days.

My recovery so far has been fairly easy. I really only need the Tylenol and Ibuprofen and ice. I have to remind myself to take it easy. Separately, I was really diligent about eating well and very healthy before surgery. I had read others comments that the anesthesia caused constipation. This is NO JOKE! I had even taken stool softeners in advance and I wished I had taken more. Ask your doctor.

The wedge pillow that others posted about was super helpful!

Mini Boob New BA; Mentor Moderate Plus 150cc, 5'6 105 Lbs Post Surgery - 3 Day Post Op update

My recovery is going extremely well! My implants were done over the muscle so they didn't have to cut into my muscles (if you can do it this way, it is the way to go)!!! I had enough tissue but this helps so much.
You can see from my photos that you can barely see the incisions under my breasts. There were no drains, no stitches to get removed.
Hopefully these are helpful.

Thank you for the update and the pics! They are so helpful! I’m around same stats 5’5” and 100lb. I tried 150cc sizers and they looked and felt huge. Waiting for 100 and 125 sizers to arrive because they didn’t have them at my doc office. Did you notice if they look smaller after the surgery than sizers? Or around same? Do they feel heavy and like on the way after the surgery? Can you do any of housework or walking/cardio yet? I’m looking to have mine done over the muscle also. I weight lift every day except holidays. Want to get back to my pre op strength but looks like will take a while. Thank you for reply!

First, I'll say that I only wish I had done it sooner! I did not have an sizers in my size so it was a little blind for me. I had tried some on but they didn't have them in my size so I just kept telling my surgeon what I wanted. It was really also determined by my diameter. She ended up going even smaller on me once I was in surgery. I wouldn't want to be any smaller than I am today and I know the swelling will continue to go down.

Physically, I feel fine but they will not allow any workout activity until all of the incisions are fully healed. Even then I think it's legs only. I'm waiting patiently as I don't want to mess anything up. I worked out a lot in advance knowing this. The incisions need to stay dry so no sweating...I can barely leave my house as I live in FL and it is so humid!

Happy to answer any questions! I'll post more pics after my post op appointment on Tuesday!!

Oh, and I am able to do most things for myself like cooking, etc. I'm just doing them very slow and carefully to make sure I don't do anything to the incision. I have to remind myself to slow down and just take it easy. I'm catching up on some good Netflix!

They look great! Just curious if the doctor gave the reasons for over the muscle?

I have read so many different view points on over or under the muscle. My surgeon (female) thinks that someone who is very active that when the implant is under the muscle, the breast move around when working out - not looking natural when working out. There also needs to be enough tissue to do it. Again, I've seen pros/cons to all of them so I think it's based on the individual as well as what the Dr. is most comfortable with. I hope that helps.

To the first comment, I have to add--sizers barely help! They are so off putting and really don't give you the best representation of what to get. I had to do the rice test at home instead which was also a bit difficult BUT I will say it seems like everything worked out here! You have lovely results. I took had a "mini boob job" but with 195/210 under the muscle. I am only 7 days in!
