WORTH IT
Here are some pictures of the recovery.
The pictures were taken on the 1, 3, 5, 7, and 12 days after the operation.
I started to move my arms after one week and been doing some gentle stretches and movement with good control. Still trying to avoid activating pecs too much as it feels just weird. Zero pain, scars looks ok and they have started to soften and move more.
I like the size a lot. It’s funny how they look almost the same size I had before, but they feel more natural and connected to my body.

One week post surgery
Hello,
A week after the surgery, I wanted to give a brief update on how things are going. The surgery went well, and recovery has started smoothly.
I definitely feel more pain in the chest area and when moving my arms compared to the first time (when the implant was placed on top of the muscle). Back then, I was almost pain-free, which felt unusual. I have been avoiding lifting my arms for a week, and it has come naturally, as large arm movements don't feel comfortable. When the implant was placed on top of the muscle, I could move my arms without pain right away.
I took painkillers for three days after the surgery, in addition to the surgery day itself, and then I was able to be and sleep without them.
I feel a slight discomfort when I tense my pec muscle, but there no continuous pain.
Both nipples have sensation, which I was worried about losing because I didn’t lose it last time either. Swelling was the most significant on the third day post-op.
I already feel that the decision to undergo the second surgery was the right one. Since I have a very petite chest area, these feel more like a part of me, not so detached. And no visible lines. Of course I can’t tell the final result yet.
It can definitely be said that recovery is easier and not so painful with the implant placed on top of the muscle. I definitely needed help at home during the first couple of days, and getting out of bed was a bit awkward.
Today, I have stitch removal and a one-week check-up. :)

Thanks for sharing your journey from over the muscle to under. I am also a fitness instructor (yoga) and have wondered how utm may effect some movements like plank and chaturanga push ups. Did you speak to the surgeon about this? I’m 4weeks post op with 275cc and haven’t ventured to start working out yet.
Thank you, I thought that perhaps my experience might help someone.
My surgeon was very straightforward and realistic. He immediately told me, since I am a professional mover, that going under the muscle might weaken muscle function. I am grateful that he was so direct, as it helped me avoid surprises.
I might have been too cautious and panicked.
Since it was a small implant, the surgeon assessed that it would work for me above the muscle as well, and together we decided to go above the muscle.
I was somehow so cautious and afraid that I would never be able to do push-ups or pull-ups again, and that would start to bother me.
It would still bother me, and it's interesting to see how it will turn out now...
However, I started to be bothered by the edges of the implant, small ones, and I interviewed several people in the field who have them under the muscle.
Maybe it would have been wise to do this research better before the first surgery.
If you have the energy, write an update on how the first workouts and push-ups feel. I have understood that at first it feels strange, but over time you get used to it and it normalizes as the muscle adapts to the implant.
Wishing us luck :D

Update After a Year and a Half - Revision Surgery Due to Visible Edges and Minor Rippling
After about six months of consideration, I have decided to undergo a revision surgery to place the implants under the muscle.
Around the one-year mark, I started to notice the edge of the implant showing as rippling on the inner edge. In certain positions, clothing, and especially in bright natural light, it is so visible that it bothers me. It makes my breast look fake, even though they are very small. Looking back, I recall feeling the edge last summer while wearing bikinis, which was about six months after the surgery. However, I thought it was part of the healing process. Apparently, once the final swelling subsided and the implants settled, the rippling became apparent.
According to the doctor, the situation is not bad, and it isn’t, but it still bothers me. He suggested moving the implant under the muscle. I visited him again and consulted friends, which made me think about whether the current small implant would work under the muscle or if it would be too "flat" (mini 220).
I really like the current size and don’t want it to get any smaller. When placed under the muscle, the visual appearance tends to shrink slightly, and I don’t want that, so I decided to change the implant to a slightly higher profile, demi 265.
My surgery is the day after tomorrow. I hope the recovery will be as easy as the first time. I never thought I would be facing another surgery so soon. I wanted to share this update in case it helps someone with their decision-making.

Hi I hope your surgery went well. I was reading your tread and am disappointed for you that you had to have a revision. I’m going for over muscle as well but I’m not as small as you. I’m 140lb and 158cm. I’m
Hoping I don’t get rippling as I’m not as skinny. I am considering between 190cc and 220cc.
I hope your recovering well xx

Hi, thank you, the surgery and recovery (24 hours now) have gone very well.
I also felt it was an undesirable situation to have to undergo surgery again so soon.
In my case, the doctor did not talk about a rippling issue, as he thought the visibility of the edge was minimal. Maybe if I had gained 5 kilograms, the problem wouldn't have existed. Who knows.
In any case, even that small visibility bothered me.
My friend also has over-the-muscle implants, really beautiful and quite large ones. She has more of her own breast tissue, so she doesn't have any rippling or visibility issues at all. Works for her very well, very natural.
Good luck with your surgery, I'm sure you'll make the right decision together.
Have to add, even though I have been and i still am almost hysterical about not getting implants that are too large, I recommend going for the bigger size within your range.
They seem to shrink once you get used to them haha.

Thank you for that reply. I really appreciate your comments. Glad the first 24 hours have gone well. Xx
I’m getting a tummy tuck as well. And some how hoping no one will know I have had either surgery…lol.

I first had mine over the muscle, but under the fascia. In my opinion the lines were still too visible and did bother me. I have so little fat and own breast tissue.
With unders i feel they are more natural and connected to my body.
They do move a bit towards the armpit when i do push ups or use pec muscles, but it’s something I can live with:)
Of course the final results how they look and feel depend on a body, but I’m happy to hear my review has been helpful.
