Post Op Day 4 - Update
Just a quick update on progress so far:
Day 1 (Op Day)
- Woke up feeling nauseous from the General Anaesthesia, had a glucose drink, Vomit Meds followed by Milo right after. Felt better, did NOT throw up.
- Pain from left armpit made me feel almost like I was incapacitated, so I took the pain killer (Pain Killer 1 only which was non-drowsy).
- After the meds kicked in I felt almost like myself.
I could raise my arms parallel to my shoulders and I could get in and out of bed myself.
- Breasts are so high they are barely an inch (2 fingers) away from my collarbone.
- Slept 2-3 hours and woke up every now and then then drift off to sleep again, but did not wake up feeling too miserable and tired.
Day 2 (1 day after the Op)
- Could not get out of bed…after struggling a while by myself, slipped on the blanket while trying to roll out of bed, and pulled a muscle supporting my fall with my right arm.
- Sharp pain all over right arm, armpit, right breast, under breast… the whole area …you name it. SO BAD.
- No sensation in both Nipples, was told this was temporary.
- Saw my PS for my first review, he says surgery was smooth and both breasts looks fine.
- Went Grocery Shopping + Sent kids to school
- Spent Day with achy pulls and sharp pain in right breast, nagging pain in armpit, and ribcage area throughout…it was BAD, I could barely move that arm without hurting, esp under the breast area
- Took Painkiller 2 which made one drowsy so I could sleep.
- Slept 4 hours, woke for 2, drifted back to sleep for another 4 hours
- Doc told me to use core muscles in stomach area to get up / out of bed…it works! Why didn’t anyone just tell me that earlier??!! :(
Day 3
- Still REALLY painful in the right breast while I took deep breaths
- Stuck on medicated plasters for muscle aches on neck plus lower back (away from wound of course). Felt some relief…works better than the ice pack for sure.
- Left breast still feels tight, but discomfort was manageable, some pain in the incision area…was told this was normal
- Attended an Art Fair
- Took the kids to Birthday Party….sat through / hung out 6 hours at Birthday Party
- no longer needed drowsy painkillers but still really painful when I breathe and really sore neck plus back
- Noticed one of the bandages had a spot of blood soak through…CRAP….
- Contacted the Doc and made an appointment to see him day after as he wasn’t available the next day.
- Learnt I could stand up without using my arms at all, just my legs.
Day 4
- Still hurts on the right breast when I breathe
- Sharp pain plus tingling sensation in right breast too
- Right Nipple got back sensation
- Left incision area still hurts sometimes, getting a little itchy too
- Errands day…Didn’t drive but went to drug store, bought groceries, shopping for kids
- Blood spot didn’t appear larger…fingers crossed for appointment tomorrow.
I think if I didn’t slip on my blanket and pulled a muscle (or something) on my right when I almost fell, the pain / discomfort from the BA itself would have been totally tolerable.
No problems with my digestive system, could clear all systems by Day 2 but bloating is a bitch. My tummy is HUGE.

Received a myriad of information on Realself and appreciative of everyone who shared here. So this is me with my contribution, hopefully documenting my journey would make this a learning experience for me too.
Going for my BA shortly….feeling nervous.
A couple of hours more to go and I’m still wondering if I went with the right size. Scared of ending up too big. I am 5’3, 105 lbs. My measurements are 11.25 but I have mild scoliosis so my PS suggested the L285/ R300 Demi or L335/R355 Full.
I was aiming for a full B to a small C…you know, just to finally fill up that empty bra cup, I’ve pretty much been totally flat my whole life…didn’t up a bra size even when I was pregnant. But when I tried on the Demi, it just kinda feels too much like “me”…just sans the Push-up in the Bra. Makes me wonder why I am going through all the pain and expense to achieve what my Bra can already do.
Since hitting my 40s I have put on quite a bit of weight…so I figured the fuller profile should balance this out better since I lost my tiny waist. Fingers crossed it turns out ok, PS assures me both sizes look natural and have probably only a 1cm difference in projection. Nurse assures me the actual implants will look smaller than the sizers we tried on since I was going under the muscle…we’ll see.
Here are some before pictures. Hated getting myself sized for Bras, but I’m likely a 34A. Boob projection..negligible …Hahha

I am getting mine done next wednesday! going for demi ergo 340 dual plane. my starting size is also similar to u but im 170cm 53kg. not sure if im going too small, my surgeon offered ergo full at 400cc too......
Hi, I’m Day 2 of my surgery, so everything is swollen and the implants are so high up, they are barely an inch around from my collarbone, but so far I am happy with the size. I thought they would be so huge that everyone would notice I did something to my boobs….but even my family won’t be able to tell if I said nothing, and I am a much shorter woman with a really short torso. I have almost all of my jacket sleeves altered to fit! Lol!
My worries about going up a dress size was almost non-existent…
