5 months! Some concerns..
WORTH IT
It’s been 5 months today since my surgery and the last few months have been interesting.. At my 3 month appt i was feeling good, they had settled, the uncomfortable sensations had subsided, they felt like soft and squishy boobies and i was ready to start enjoying them. Though shortly after my 3 month appt, i noticed that my nipples were appearing higher than ‘normal’. I was comparing them to my pre op photos and my progress photos throughout and they didn't seem drastically different, however, it was when i raised my arms, the nipple appeared much higher - almost at the top of the implant which of course made me panic.
I emailed some photos to the surgeon and asked if this was normal and would it worsen over time. He asked me to come in clinic to take a look and assess. So i went in, and he said that the implants were in fact bottoming out (bad news) - only mildly though (positive news). We also noticed that the implant had a lot more movement to the sides. Essentially this meant that the pocket had become too big. This can happen due to a few reasons, however, the surgeon believes it is due to my thin breast tissue.
He has reassured me that it can be fixed by going in via the original inframammary incision, stitching the pocket at the bottom to make it smaller and then also doing what he described as the ‘popcorn method’ on the sides to ensure the implants don't move to the side. The popcorn method is a lot less invasive. So, this means revision surgery, which I’m not overly happy about, however, i’d much rather fix it than let it get worse. He said he would not do this until the 6 month mark, so i have an check in appt mid Oct. He will assess then and hopefully get me booked me in for the revision. Surgeon said the recovery is much less intense so i’m hopeful i won't need to go through everything i did the first time around.
On the plus side, i’m really happy with my scars, they are healing really well. And i really love the size, its exactly what i was after.

3 month check up appt
It's been just over 3 months now! Here are some photos from my pre op appt and 3 month appt.
They have settled a little more, they are softer and they dont feel like weird objects on my chest anymore. Im definitely more use to them now, though because I know they are silicone, they do feel like silicone, however, because i had little breast tissue before, it's not like I have a lot to compare the squishy to. They are more jiggly now and move around pretty naturally now.
I waited for 3 months to start exercising and I'm glad I did. Mainly because I would have been too paranoid/cautious. My first boxing class was tough(!) but my instructor knew I'd had the surgery so knew I'd take it easy. I surprised myself with some movements that I thought I'd struggle with or get a weird feeling so that was a nice surprise. I think the only movement I'm not yet at is a push up movement. It feels weird and I think I'll avoid it for awhile longer.
In terms of flexing the chest muscle, I've been making a flexing motion at home in front of the mirror and it doesnt look weird or show the implant. Im not doing any super heavy weights yet so not sure if that will change it. I think someone asked me this because they were concerned about the implant showing. Im not sure if this has happened to others, but I'm sure it has to do with implant size, placement and how much tissue is already there, so could vary between people.
Nipple sensation is not back to normal yet and the surgeon said it could take up to 18months so im being patient with that. Sensation of the skin around the breast is back except for the area near the scars which I dont expect to come back.
I dont think I'll do another update until about a year as I dont think there will be anything to report on.

Looks amazing! I have definitely modified my workouts. I avoid bench press and do tricep pushups instead of regular pushups. I basically avoid exercises that focus on the chest.
Thanks for posting!! Looks great!!
They look really amazing, thank you for sharing your journey, so helpful!
Hey they look amazing! My body type is very similar to yours, can I ask how many cc you got? My doctor recommended 165cc/side but I don’t know if that’s too big for me.
they look amazing! i am considering a similar size for myself. thanks for sharing your journey

2 months and much softer
Reached the 2 month mark and they have softened a lot more! I think swelling has mostly gone now.
They are much more swishy and moveable than they were at 1 month! I don't think the size has changed much. The internal stitching at the incisions have definitely softened as well. Still tenderness on the ribcage area, especially on one side. So I just have to be gentle with the bras I wear and the pressure they put on that area. I still(!) wear my macom bra at night because it's just the most comfortable. Wearing normal non wire and sports bras during the day.
Scars are looking good and I put the scar gel on every second day at night now, was doing everyday for a awhile.
I am happy with the size. They are like the small boobs I was meant to have. I do look at them sometimes (only sometimes) and think I could have gone slightly bigger but I know me well enough to know that I would have felt they were too big if I did. I didn't want them to be noticeable to anyone else but me and I feel that's exactly what they are. I've just done a big online bikini shop and waiting for them in the post which I'm excited for. In the meantime I've been putting on my current bikinis and like they fill them out but they aren't super big! I've taken a few pics for you all and also some laying down.
Looking back on the last 2 months, some things i wish I knew beforehand:
Dermatitis in a few areas of my body, maybe just a body reaction post surgery. I had this beforehand but a few popped up all at the same time which was annoying.
Dry skin, the skin on my breasts became dry and flaking because it had stretched. Moisturise, Moisturise, Moisturise.
Didnt get a solid sleep for awhile, expect this until you go back to a normal and comfortable sleeping position.
Breathing, i did a lot of shallow breathing and for awhile without realising. I had to remind myself to take deep breathes. This caused headaches which I didn't tie to the breathing until afterwards.
Stretching of skin/burning/tightness does go away, eventually, but the hypersensitivity is real.
Fluid trapped under the skin after surgery, totally normal.
I
nternal stitching will be really sore and hard and morning boob is a real thing.

They look so gorgeous!
Wow! Looking great! I'm glad you're satisfied with the size. No one can even tell that you got a boob job!
Thank you!! I have just had recent thoughts that my nipples seem higher than usual, atleast compared to natural breasts. But then i look at my old boobs and they are around the same spot... maybe I'm just overthinking it..
Absolutely, I think it's your shape and it doesn't look strange or fake at all! Sometimes when I get a bit of boob greed, or feel like the scars sit a bit too low or that they are not as jiggle as natural ones, I remind myself that the goal was never to have completely perfect boobs. You look at them so much that you start to notice small flaws, even though they were everything you once dreamed of! I just have to remember that I don’t need to spend time overthinking about my boobs anymore, what to wear or how they look naked. Now I don’t even think about it, and that’s been the biggest win for me. :)
I really appreciate you responding and thank you for the reminder :) We really do look at them so much, we are bound to criticise them in some way. I wish our brains weren't wired to pick negative things out! Im going to try my best to push these thoughts out because you're so right, we now have the little boobies we wanted and we should be enjoying them :) also i do try on bikinis alot and really do enjoy that! Im excited for summer so I can try out all these bikinis on the beach!
Indeed, so excited! Love wearing my new cute tops and bralettes!
Looking incredible and natural!! Goals achieved! Can you workout yet? How are they feeling in your body with movement/ strength?
Thank you! :) I haven't started back at exercise, mainly because what I usually do is boxing and the recommendation was to wait until 3 months for that so I didn't want to risk anything starting too soon. In terms of general movement and strength, I'd say everything feels back to normal and I have full motion, only occasionally I might try to pull something with resistance and feel a certain tug near the implant. I'd say that's normal so I'm not worried about it. I did try a slow push up about a week ago and it felt very weird so won't be trying that for awhile longer. I have my 3 month check up next week so once I start proper exercise back up I will share how it feels etc.
Thanks for these updates!
