Now that I've lived in Raleigh for about 2-3 years and settled down a little, I really set out on doing something for myself that I've always wanted done. My breasts have always been a huge source of insecurity for me and it has affected every relationship I can remember because I was so self conscious about them that most of the time I would refuse to let any of my boyfriends see them. I had always done research on breast augmentation (even in high school), but I knew I couldn't afford it so I never bothered going any further than that. I saved up the cash and finally made a consultation with Dr. Morea and scheduled my surgery for 6/25/2020! I wanted to document my process because over the past few months, I've been reading these reviews and looking at the photos and it has been SO helpful. It's really insightful to hear so many different womens' experiences and I feel a lot more prepared going into this (also helped to calm my nerves). I'm the type of person who absolutely obsesses over something until I go through it myself and this has been no exception. I probably look at these reviews and photos at least 1-2 times a day. At this point, I think it has become more comforting than informational lol.
Today (6/8/20), a nurse from Dr. Morea's office called me and gave me a mini interview about my past medical procedures/medications/allergies, etc. She gave me an overview about what we discussed during the initial consultation and confirmed that I still want the same things. The bullet points were basically: I'm going from an A cup to full C cup with Mentor Xtra Gel Silicon implants, 465 CC's in my right breast and 440 CC's in my left (gotta love that asymmetry) under the muscle and incisions will be in the fold of my breasts, no eating/drinking after midnight the night before surgery, arrive at office at 9am, surgery at 10-ish, head home around 12:30-1, I'll be under general anesthesia, need to get a front closure sports bra, shower after 24hrs.
So far, I've been nothing but impressed with Dr. Morea and all the fantastic ladies at the office. I have never once felt talked down to or like I was asking a stupid question or being judged. They are all very understanding even when you annoy them with a billion questions and will always greet you with a smile. Same for Dr. Morea, he answered all of my questions before I even asked them and really listened to what I wanted.
**As a little background of my body type, I am 5'7-5'8 and 128 lbs with a slim/athletic build. I'll upload some before pictures and come back to add some after pictures, too. Really hoping this turns out to be what I've been dreaming of for years!

Hey, just wanted to say I really like your natural boobs too! I'm excited for you getting our procedure if you want it but also just want to say that I actually think your natural boobs are really good.

I agree your breasts are beautiful. I too dreamed of bigger chest since high school. I had mine done at age 40, just 2 years ago and after having had 4 children. My surgeon did an excellent job aesthetically . However I am finding they are not for me. No matter what they tell you your breast tissue will feel more hard, and they will slide on your chest like balls. They are just "uncomfortable ". I never believed in breast implant illness and am still not fully convinced . But a few months after my augmentation I developed sinus/ allergy problems , changes in my skin and hair, and my thyroid levels have changed. I am currently seriously thinking of removing them. It is recommended they are exchanged every 10 years anyways and if I wait that long I know I'll probably need a bigger surgery to remove the capsules and have a lift . I simply want to share my experience. If you do have surgery I truly hope you have a good outcome and love them as I only wish I did mine.

You'll need the capsules out in order to ensure best chances of future heath. Best wishes! Xx

I don't notice any asymmetry in your photos. My wife's surgeon said she had asymmetry too. She decided to go with his recommendation and chose 375 CC's on the left and 400 CC's on the right. Many experts will say you won't be able to tell the difference of the 25 CC delta, but I know firsthand that you can tell the difference. Both my wife and I wish she had chosen 400 CC's (or even gone with the 465 CC's) for both sides. You will decide what is best for you, but I would highly recommend choosing the same size implant for both sides.

They are definitely asymmetrical, I should've uploaded a front-on view, it is noticeable there. Thank you for the input though!

Please do update this after your surgery. We have similar stats and body type. I'm 5'9 and 125 lbs. It's so hard to find taller women on here to see what different cc's look like. I'm having the toughest time deciding on size! Best wishes!

Hi! I just updated my review with some pictures if you are curious what the size looks like :)

Post Op!

I got to the office around 9:15am this morning and didn’t get into surgery until 10:15-ish. I arrived, had my temperature taken before entering the building, signed consent forms, gave a urine sample to test for pregnancy, took a COVID test (finger prick), and then talked to the anesthetist and Dr. Morea. Had my before pictures taken and got marked up with a sharpie. Then, they took me back to the operating room and that was that! It’s also worth noting that the anesthetist, Dave, is amazing!!! I have a huge fear of needles and I barely even felt anything when he put in my IV.
I woke up feeling like I had been hit by a truck lol and they kept telling me to open my eyes and get up but it was sooooo hard to even open my eyes. Getting off of the bed felt impossible, it took all of my energy and I was super nauseous on top of that. That wasn’t too surprising though because I’ve had wisdom teeth surgery and been nauseous when I woke up also. They sat me in a wheelchair and brought me out to the car and I headed home!
I’m attaching a few pictures of the new boobs! I’m very sore, it feels like I worked out my arms and chest super hard and now I’m sore. The pain medication is making the pain way more bearable.
Dr. Morea ended up sticking to the original plan of 465cc in my right and 440cc in my left. I’m so so so excited to see how they look after the drop and fluff! ????

Post Op Day 2!

raleigh_bewbs
Didn’t get much sleep last night but that was because my mom who is taking care of me was snoring sooo loud lol. If that weren’t the case, I would’ve slept like a baby! I did wake up a good bit more sore than I was yesterday, though. My chest still feels really tight and achey and I’m hoping it doesn’t get too much worse than this. It’s definitely tolerable though, I’m just a baby about pain.
Dr. Morea called last night to check up on me and to remind me that I can shower today if I want to. I’m not sure if I will though, it’s pretty uncomfortable just getting up and going to the bathroom, so I might wait another day or two for that.
I have a post op appointment next Tuesday at 8am to make sure everything is healing well, so fingers crossed all goes as planned. I’m going to take a few more progress pics but for now I’m uploading one that I took early this morning. It’s nice having cleavage for the first time ever lol!

It will get better!! I have similar stats to you except i weigh 140lbs. I went 445cc which is similar to what you did!

Thank you, that's encouraging! Did you ever have like a sharp, hot pain in your breast when you moved your arm(s) a certain way? I've felt that a couple of times in my right breast (the one with the bigger implant) when I tried to move my arm a certain way and wondered if that's normal. Also, did the space between your breasts get smaller as you healed? I'm happy with the space as they are now, but I'm just trying to get an idea of what they will look like in the coming weeks/months.
June 28, 2020
The sharp burning is likely nerve related. It will improve after the breast stretches. I experienced really bad nerve pain for two weeks, had to take Gabapentin but it was a constant burning pain. One day I woke up and it was gone. The spacing will get better as they soften up. I’m a little over 5 weeks and they’re already so much softer and squishy!! It’s better the squishier they get because you can push them together :) breast implants are a roller coaster, initially your like wtf are these, but everyday it gets better!!
June 28, 2020
Thank you for the response! I've been sitting here trying to figure out if I'm the world's biggest baby or if this kind of pain is normal lol. It's much better today though so I'm hoping I'm through the worst of it. Thanks again for the words of encouragement :)

Of course!! I hope you have a speedy recovery :)
