2 weeks PO!
Happy belated Thanksgiving everyone! So I'm officially 2 weeks post op and feeling sooo good! This post is gonna be a little long, so buckle in!
Now that I'm more conscious and have had some time to reflect, let me start back from the beginning. So when I woke up from surgery, I was honestly so out of it. I remember telling my nurse that my pain was a 6/10. I don't at all remember of the pain really was a 6/10, but I do remember that the pain wasn't your typical idea of pain, but rather a whole lot of discomfort. My muscles were so freaking tight and I felt so much pressure on my chest. Before I went into surgery my nurse made sure to tell me that some patients wake up panicking because the pressure on their chest makes them think they can't breathe. I'll definitely say it wasn't so bad that I thought I couldn't breathe, but I think the worst part was that I was so unused to the feeling. Luckily this procedure didn't require me to be intubated, so I didn't wake up with a sore throat or anything like that.
After surgery, I got brought home and my friend took care of me (bless her soul). I immediately got into bed and fell asleep. I couldn't keep my eyes open for longer than 15 minutes at a time and got up only to go to the bathroom. The worst thing for the first few days was not being able to use my arms to push myself up when I had to sit up. By the end of the day my abs were killing me and it didn't help that my ribs were SO sore (I think from the added pressure of the implants and swelling?). I highly recommend having someone with you to help push you up.
The first and second days after my surgery day were the worst for me. I went to my post op appointment the day after surgery and I felt like I was hit by a truck. My boobs were SO swollen, tight, and NUMB. Oh my God, they were so NUMB. The combination of all of this made it feel like I had bowling balls attached to my chest. My post-op happened to also be my birthday, so my surgeon brought me in a Sprinkles cupcake which was so incredibly sweet of him. What wasn't so sweet of him is that he also brought me the dreaded band and told me to wear it for one week. When I got home, I proceeded to sleep for the rest of the day.
My second DPO, I had a job interview and that went surprisingly well. I was luckily able to hide my surgical band and function pretty normally--to the point they had no idea I was two days out of surgery (I got the job too!). However, it was on this day that I really started regretting my decision. I looked in the mirror and just absolutely hated the look of my boobs. I've done my research and knew that their shape was super normal and that they still needed to drop and fluff, but going from nothing to something was really jarring to me. Combine the feeling that I was not looking at my own body with the fact that my boobs were painfully numb, I had the horrible feeling that I just wanted to rip them off of my body and that I had made a huge mistake. But, luckily I was still pretty tired and could do nothing more than fall asleep.
On my third day post op, my boyfriend took me out to dinner as a belated birthday celebration. I took my band off so that I could actually get dressed up and look nice, so that was a great little break. Tbh the band wasn't so bad for the first two days, but it only got progressively worse from there. To be fair though, I think part of the reason why the band hurt was because I was putting it too tight because I was so eager to get my boobs to drop haha. But I digress! Dinner went well, but I was still really not feeling 100%. I don't know if I'm just a pansy, but I don't know how people can function so quickly after a breast augmentation. My chest was still so tight and my ribcage was so sore that it hurt to laugh, so I tried not to which put a damper on things.
On my fourth day post op, my boyfriend broke up with me and that really sucked because crying with a fresh boob job is really painful. Tip for my ladies, if you think your relationship is on the rocks, either end things before your surgery or tell your man to suck it up until you heal.
On my fifth day post op, I ditched my wedge pillow for normal pillows stacked on top of each other. Also a tip for you guys, if you're gonna get a wedge pillow, do not get a tempur-pedic one because they are SO stiff and get really uncomfortable. For the rest of day 5 and 6 PO, I just stayed at home with my mom and watched TV with her.
I went back to work 1 week PO and I did fine, but looking back on it now, I definitely would've wanted at least another 2-3 days until I went back to work. The biggest part of this reasoning is that I have a 1.5 hour commute to and from work on the 405 freeway, so driving was actually terrifying. If you're from Southern California, then you know that drive is stressful even if you're in perfect health. But I somehow managed to do it without tearing a muscle. I am a receptionist, so my job itself isn't super strenuous but tbh if I'd had a more physically taxing job, I don't think I would've been okay.
Day 8 PO was probably when I started really feeling a lot better. The heaviness in my chest was finally starting to subside and I was coming out of the mental fog. Also, it was around this time that the constipation and bloating were finally going down. Driving to and from work was still really hard.
Day 9 PO I was finally able to take off my band and my boobies were finally starting to look normal! Work was finally getting easier, as was the drive.
Day 10 PO the bloating came back ):
Day 11 PO I had my second post-op appointment and my surgeon removed the steri strips and stitches. He also showed me how to massage my boobs and holy cow! He did a demonstration for me and I thought he was gonna rip my whole left boob off. Beauty is pain, ladies. He also told me to start putting scar gel on my scars twice a day.
Day 12 PO I did some Christmas shopping and decided to take a little trip to VS just for fun, even though I know I'm nowhere near ready for "regular" bras. I didn't have them measure me because I didn't want to bother them, but I did try some bras on and it looks like I'm a full 32C-D, depending on the style. Also, day 12 was around when I started noticing my boobs were already starting to drop and soften up. Don't get me wrong, they've still got a ways to go, but it was crazy to see such a drastic change just in one day (I like to think that the massaging was the big factor, but it had only been one day, so maybe it's all in my head). Another thing to mention is that my left boob is definitely dropping faster than my right boob, which is pretty on par with what others have said too (my right hand is my dominant hand).
I will definitely say day 14 PO was when I really started feeling 100%. I got back to doing what I normally do and going on with every day life. My boobs are still numb and I have yet to experience the nerve twinges, but the crackles in my ribs are gone, my boobs are making progress and driving doesn't hurt anymore. I'm now 18 DPO and I can say I am over the moon with my decision and love my boobs more and more every day.
Anyways, if you've made it this far, thanks for sticking around! I have attached two pictures, one from my surgery (I gave my surgeon permission to post my surgery on his Instagram) and one from 2 weeks PO. If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to ask me! Until the next update (:

Surgery Day and Post-op Day 1!
Hey guys! So the big day was yesterday. I still cannot believe it really happened already! I was supposed to be at the surgical facility around 7 AM, but I showed up around 6:45 AM and filled out some paperwork. After my paperwork, I was escorted to the back where I changed into my gown, cap, and booties. I gave a urine sample and then the nurse took me to a bed where he asked me some pre-operative questions and started my IV. The anesthesiologist went over his spiel with me and then off I went to get marked by my PS. By roughly 8 AM, I was already in the OR and set to go.
The procedure lasted roughly 50 minutes and then I woke up in recovery. The pain was not bad at all, but it did feel like I had a very plump cat sitting on my chest and weighing it down. Overall, the procedure was very quick and seamless. I’m very impressed with the efficiency that everything happened.
Once I was home, I slept most of the day, getting up briefly to walk to the bathroom. The pain was very bearable—just some tightness and soreness of the muscles. I’ve read some people talking on here about the feeling of crackles under the skin and I can definitely attest to that. I’ll also say if anyone is worried about sleeping, don’t be! My PS prescribed me sleeping pills and I couldn’t be more grateful for that haha
This morning, I woke up feeling pretty okay. I had horrible soreness in my rib age and upper sternum. I’m not sure if that occurred in surgery or what it’s from, but oh well. I saw my surgeon today for my first post op and he says everything is looking great! He cleared me to shower and instructed me to lift my arms 5 times every hour. Of course I’m going to do as he says, but let me tell you that ish does NOT feel pleasant! The things we do for beauty, right? Other than that, recovery has been going well. I’m sleeping most of the day and getting up for small periods of time.
P.s. I decided to go with the 325 cc HP implants and I’m so glad I did. I was leaning towards the 350s for a while, but honestly the 325’s were the perfect size. They’re big, but not too big and compliment my frame well. Even though 25 cc’s isn’t too much of a difference, I wouldn’t have sized up at all. I know a lot of people on here say size up if you’re unsure, but for more petite ladies, I’d say we are the exception to the rule if you’re looking for a more natural look. But that’s just my opinion! (: do what’s best for you. I’ll try to post some pics here soon

Pre-Op Done!!
One step closer to *the big day*!! Just had my pre-op today — paid the remaining balance and tried on sizers one more time. I spoke with my PS about going bigger and he said we totally could, with 350 ccs being the highest he’d advise going. I tried on both 325 cc and 350 cc and we decided to go with 325 because of how small my fame is and there is less chance of complications down the line. That being said, I’m still worried that I will regret not going with the bigger size. I keep hearing that everyone’s regret is not going bigger, but I’m also worried that the bigger size will make me look too top heavy because I am very slender with very narrow hips. I’m very torn between the two sizes ugh! Regardless, I’m SO excited for my surgery. 11 more days to go!
