Breast Augmentation with Lipo Enduring Severe Allergic Reaction

On Feb 9th 2021 I underwent a breast augmentation with liposuction. Things went well during surgery and I went home within the day. On day four post op I noticed some rashes, minor. Thinking it was due to the new garment I tried to put a tshirt underneath. The next day it was worse. So I called and they put me on topical steroid and Vistaril. Within that night symptoms were so severe I went to ER where they provided a Solu Medrol shot and a prednisone pack. I am now on day 4 of the prednisone and I am still getting new flare ups! The PS thinks I am allergic to the surgical glue so he had me put Vaseline on the incision sites and remove the compression garments. I started the rash heavy on my flanks and now it is coming around to my stomach and on my chest. The chest is the newest to flare today and my first spots are turning purple and very dry. Can anyone advise how much longer I am going to have endure this?

I had a similar reaction after over heating when exercising. Turned out it was hives and it traveled slowly all over my body. It was was very itchy. It took 3 weeks to clear up.

Hi, I just had m breast augmentation 2 months ago. Let me tell you this. I had the same very exact reaction but it was from the antibiotic!! I put ice packs on my rashes to cool hem down so I won't be itching them and also took Benadryl around the clock. After I stopped antibiotics I cleared up 2 days after.

I have not been on any antibiotic as of yet. Only oral and cream steroids with combos of Vistaril and Benadryl. I am so miserable. I can’t wear any compression bc it highly irritates.

If I can send you the hives I got I would in a heartbeat. I was scared for the life of me I was not sleeping and I cried literally every night they lasted for 2 weeks!

I’ve cried every night! It’s been 6 days now on prednisone and some spots feel better while others rage. Unsure of what to do.

Maybe ask your doctor to prescribe you a different antibiotic.

I got hives a week after my BA! They said it was from bacitracin. I had a capsulorrhaphy 3 months later and he did not use bacitracin, and I also didn’t have a hives breakout. The itching was awful! It spread to my whole body. Worst on elbows and hands. Put me on prednisone and it went away the day I took my last dose.

Day 6 on Prednisone, Day 10 post Op

Chest is looking better but my upper flanks are enraged. I am halfway through Prednisone pack and still feel slow progression. Not sure what else to do. I Incorporate aquaphor with steroid cream as well. I have removed all compression including bra to keep the irritation down. Not on antibiotics at this point. Anyone else seen anything like this?
