7 1/2 weeks out and I’m nervous
When I came in for the consultation I inquired about Lipo and fat transfer to my breast. The surgeon suggested a breast lift would make a difference with implants, as fat transfers are unpredictable. I took her recommendation and now I have regrets. My left breast, which used to be larger, is now much smaller and misshaped. I am so nervous there’s no way to correct this. The bottom of my left breast now sits about 3/4 inch higher than my right. I wish I would never have done this. Hoping it improves in time but I see reconstructive surgery in my future and the surgeon, after I asked her, seems to think that yea, it’s likely. But I also get this vibe she’s trying to be extra positive which I appreciate but I’m also worried about that because I just want the truth on what to expect. You can’t add material back to what was taken away.. I’m crushed. Even with reconstructive surgery I can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel, how can it be corrected without chopping away at the other side now? Will I ever find happiness with this decision? I was better before I did this surgery… and 20k richer.
2 week post op hematoma
It turns out the sudden bruising on ol’ Lefty is a hematoma. They removed most of the sutures today and literally squeezed an insane amount of coagulated blood out of my body.
I took the bandages off to change them tonight and it just started draining. After a couple minutes, I got lightheaded and sat on the floor with cold water for about five minutes before I felt OK again.. Is this worth it? I’m sure in a year I’ll think so.
I apologize for the graphic photos.

2 week post op breast lift, augmentation, and lipo
Tomorrow is my two week postop appointment. I’ve noticed an increase of swelling and drainage from ol Lefty. Prior to the procedure my left breast was naturally larger than my right breast. My surgeon said she’d be removing more tissue from that side while still using 275 cc implants on both sides. I questioned it at that time, but I’m trusting my surgeon. my postop appointments do not seem to be with the surgeon, however. Tomorrow and last weeks were with her nurse. I do have concerns over this dark brown oozing from the incisions along the bottom of my left breast and concerns of this new bruising that you can see in the photos. I imagine all of this is just part of the process and I knew there would be a lengthy recovery period with this procedure.
After one week, at my first postop appointment, I was told to stop using compression on my breasts and use a light bralette in order to allow for gravity to do its thing. I’ve also been doing the massages as instructed which is a little difficult because I don’t know what I’m feeling for. I can find a lot of instruction online for people who have augmentation but nothing for people who have also had the breast lift. This is my inspiration for documenting my experience for you.
My biggest concerns with this procedure were to have a squared look to my breasts which I have seen before, and after, and puckering at the incision points. Ol’ lefty has a pucker and is squared and much larger than the right, it is possible that it is just the swelling, causing the drastic asymmetry because the symmetry is much worse now than prior to this procedure. I’m staying optimistic as my surgeon has assured me that even if things are not OK after this procedure, she will make it right either at no cost (if I don’t have to go under anesthesia to correct it) or massively discounted rate if I do have to have anesthesia. I’m not looking forward to a revision considering how difficult it was to simply take time off to have this done in the first place. But it’s only the end of week two. Positive thoughts….
As for the liposuction, I still feel like I’m fairly swollen, I’m definitely still bruised, so I think it’s too soon to tell.
