Yesterday I had my first consultation ever. It was not all what I anticipated . The surgeons bedside manner was terrible . I felt as if the surgeon was trying to sway my decision rather than provide me with options . I didn’t get the chance to try or feel any implants . The vectra machine (takes 3D images) was broken. I paid $100 for this consultation and drove 3 hours for them to tell me that I’m a good candidate for a high profile boob job and I have diastasis recti and would need a tummy tuck. Oh and they provided me with my before photos. Needless to say I’m back going back the drawing board.

Found my surgeon. After going back to square one, I found a surgeon based out of Birmingham. They have a small satellite clinic in Auburn which is convenient for me. Hedden Plastic Surgery, Jude Labarbera. We initially spoke through a couple of emails before I booked my appointment. The appointment was all that I expected . I was able to try on sizers & I gave him my vision & he in turn told me his opinion. He had great bedside manner. I finally found my holy grail. Then he told me he would be leaving for AZ by the end of July!!! Dumb founded, he reassured i'd be in good hands with any of his other colleagues . Skeptical I called the main clinic & scheduled another cosulatation for whichever plastic surgeon was able to do surgery on Aug. 6. Unfortunately , slots were booking up fast since the other 2 surgeons were picking up all Dr. Labarberas clients. It was a leap of faith but i went ahead and paid a deposit & scheduled my surgery. Today I met with Dr. Gunn, he was equally as personable & feel like I am in good hands . Now I just have to narrow down the size, I'm between 375 & 400 & do I go the silicon or the new ideal implant? oh decisions decisions. Oh and almost forgot , add exporal (sp?) or suck it up & stick with the meds that are given ? $500 for a 72 hr pain med seems a bit steep.

stats & goals

i am a lean active 5'7 wife & mother of two little (2&3). I currently 130 lbs and am a 34AA. Shooting for the natural look ,full C. Considering I'm active, these babies need to be functional. Abdominal repair & tummy tuck. Leaning towards the ideal implant but have been having thoughts of going with silicon. Paying an extra $1,000 for a peace of mind seems worth it to me but the ideal implant is still new to the market hence my hesitation . Thoughts?

Hi there! I thought about the Ideal implant as well but the nurse told me that it is a bit harder than silicone. I am going with the Mentor memory gel and my MM is scheduled for July 12th.
