Before I even called to make a consultation, I had read many reviews, watched many youtube videos (pre & post op), knew what to expect, and pretty much had no questions. I would also like to point out that I work in a clinical setting, so I wasn't very nervous to begin with.
The staff was very kind, attentive, very friendly, nice to speak with, and overall just great people ! I spoke with Jane and Nancy the days leading up to the surgery. They called and texted often for reminders about upcoming scheduled appointments which was very helpful.
Pre-Op Apt:
They went over everything with me, and because I had done so much research, it was nothing I didn't already know. they gave me instructions to take home, told me what to expect, what to do and not do, told me about my medications which one was which and how often to take them. Nancy told me that because I am of Asian decent, other helpful tips to avoid capsular contracture would be to stay away from beef, seafood, and anything high in sodium for about 6 weeks. Took my before pictures before the appointment was over. (Which I will be posting)
Surgery Day:
When I arrived I was greeted by Jane who walked me over to the prep/recovery area. Met with the clinical staff, who were very kind, very informative, and had great attitude. I never felt intimidated, scared or nervous. I know I'm not the type to ask for anything, but they definitely went out of their way to make me feel comfortable.
I met with Dr Newen for the first time, didn't have many questions. He did remind me that I was getting a "mini boob job" (175cc L, 195cc R) and wanted to make sure that I was perfectly okay with that before it was too late, which I appreciated. Another thing I noticed was that he went out of his way to put my gown on for me, help me into the gurney, put my blanket on me and tucked in my feet while he was wrapping up our little talk. Working in a hospital, I don't see many Drs who do little things like this out of second nature.
After I had an IV placed on my hand, I met with the anesthesiologist Dr Thomas. Who was just so funny and lively. Definitely calmed my nerves. He walked me through every medication that was going into my IV PERFECTLY, what to expect, what i was going to feel, for how long, and to take deep slow breathes once I woke up.
Before they wheeled me into the the surgery room, Dr Thomas gave me one last medication through my IV that made me a tad sleepy, they wheeled me into the surgery room, they put me on a breathing mask, and next thing I knew I woke up so comfortably ! I woke up to a heated blanket. I honestly wished that I could've napped there all day hehe.
I woke up and I asked the nurse "Did they start one me yet?" LOL. I guess ive been done, and I've been asleep for 15-30min. They made sure they released me to my sister while I was being discharged. They're very on it when it comes to your safety.
Post-Op:
They called me the same night to check up on me, and they called me the morning after to see how I was doing. Which I really appreciate.
I'm so happy that I chose to do my surgery here. Although its only day 1 post-op, so far I'm very happy !

Day 0-3 Post-Op

Before surgery, I was a 32A. I got 175cc on my Left and 195cc on my Right.
Day 1 (same day as surgery):
Since I still had some anesthesia in my body, I was able to rest fine at home. It just took a while to get used to the pressure on my chest.
Day 2:
This was the hardest day for me, so far. But it only gets better from here ! Tylenol Extra Strength usually never work for my migraines (which I get frequently) so I had a feeling it wasn't going to work for my pain. I did give it a try, and as I thought, it didn't work. Norco wasn't giving me nausea so I stuck to Norco up until now. Speaking about pain, it's not completely unbearable. Its just the discomfort. Definitely needed my sister to be able to do little things like open my medication, and help me move around. I'm usually pretty active, and I hate being on the couch all day so we took a little walk around the neighborhood. I was very very slow, and felt more winded than usual. At night I probably woke up twice due to the pressure on my chest.
Day 3:
I probably could have gone without the Norco and switched to Tylenol today but I knew I'd be somewhat miserable. I feel bloated, and I haven't "gone" to the bathroom since the day before surgery.
I FINALLY showered, with a little help. I feel brand new. They told me to wash the surgery site with mild soap and water, then blow dry it with cold air. I definitely feel better than the day before. And you got to keep reminding yourself it only keeps getting better !!
TIPS:
-Sleep with a neck pillow
-Get a breast augmentation compression bandeau, it really helps the implants settle faster
-Drink out of reusable straws

June 25, 2019

Love your detailed review. What type of implant did you get and I’m also curious to know what bra cup you will be.
June 25, 2019
thanks ! I'll let you know the type when i find out :) Im hoping to be a size B. I have a very petite frame. Im 98lbs, I wear 00P for slacks lol, XS in clothes typically, size 5 in womens shoes. I didn't want them to be overwhelming for my body size.

Are you allowed to tell us who your doc was? This work is gorgeous! Also I couldn’t follow exactly to figure it out but at what point post op were your photos taken? It seemed to say 3 days but it looks so good that can’t be right! Also where did they make the incision? I can barely see anything! GREAT JOB!!

Hello! I went to Dr. Newen, if you scroll up, you'll find his link!
The incision is located right underneath, in the pictures it was still covered up. The stitches dissolved over the course of two weeks.
Thank you!
