Post-op day3 medication fiasco

The surgery went well. It only took about 45 minutes. But afterwards I had a hard time adjusting the meds. When I got home the day of, I started right on the hydrocodeine painkiller because the burning was pretty bad, and the Valium was the muscle relaxer that helps with that pressure like something was stepping on my chest. I was tearing up and really thought I'd rather have after birth pains then have that sensation. I just was not prepared for that. After giving birth, I would only have a few 800mg ibuprofen and tolerate the rest. The pain kept me from doing too much during recovery, and it was doable because I felt it was natural. This surgery was not natural, however, so I guess I was afraid of the pain. What I wish I knew was that it's best to try Tylenol first to see if that takes care of the pain, but I didn't even think of it at the time, so I went on a strict drug regimen to stay on top of the pain and took the hydocodeine as soon as I could according to the time range, and I got myself pretty drugged up on PO D1. I tried to get up to walk around like they told me to but I ended up puking outside and I had to go back in. Then I was nauseous and dizzy for the rest of that day. I threw up when I tried to eat on PO D2 and I took my last meds at 5 that evening. I decided that I had to stop because I I felt like they were making me sick, so that was my last dose, and at 11 pm that night I woke up and felt immediately like the meds had stopped messing with my mind and I didn't feel like a zombie anymore. I should've just started with Tylenol in the first place and gone up from there. I should also have isolated the Valium to see if that would make me sick, because that did relax my muscles a lot. I quit both a Valium and Hydrocodeine, but I was taking anti-nausea medicine (Zofran) which didn't work. It just made me sleepy. I was still nauseous and dizzy PO D3 during my post op appointment and they gave me 2 L of fluids which they said would help, and they kind of did, but when I left we went to go get some soup and I sat in the car and vomited again. I took one of the nurses advice and got some oatmeal from Panera bread which was amazing with dried apples and pecans and cinnamon and that was the best thing ever for my stomach!! End of PO D3, I feel like I'm almost through the dizziness and the nausea has pretty much passed. So I guess most of my ordeal has been struggling with the meds. TRY TYLENOL FIRST!! The boobs have gone down in soreness and the muscles are relaxed and It's just the incisions that kind of itch a little bit but it's not too bad. The doctor did really really good. There is no bruising anywhere. I'm supposed to massage the breasts right away and they will get softer. They do look really good! I really like them!

Out of surgery

My doctor wraps with an ace bandage. I like that because it makes me feel all secure and clean.

Hopefully these will give a better idea of where I started.
