Finally my turn!

WORTH IT$10,000
I'm so excited to finally begin my journey, I booked my appointment for breast augmentation and it's about 2.5 weeks away. I've followed along on this site for quite awhile now and it's been super helpful but I'm truly excited to share my story.
I spent the majority of my 20's overweight and unhealthy, I gave birth to my daughter when I was 28. In my 30's I decided to make a change, getting in the gym regularly and eating better. I am currently sitting at a muscular 155 but the trade off is working out has taken any sort of breast tissue I had left.
Things I know for sure I'm looking at about 440cc smooth implant over the muscle but I have an appointment next Friday to make the final decision. My reasoning is because of my active lifestyle I don't want to risk the chest muscles distorting the implant as I'm working out and smooth because less risk of caspular contracture. But firm decision is less than a week!

I'm going to make a few suggestions based on my years dealing with PS. Usually a good PS will put in a temporary sizer during surgery and sit the patient up to check how the size looks in relation to your body. Some patients may even need slightly different sizes on each side. If it looks bad, it's a lot easier to swap out for a better size at this point than after surgery.
Make sure the dr knows the LOOK you want to achieve and let the surgeon figure out during surgery what will give you that look rather than having a specific number locked in to your head. Implants now have different shapes and slopes (like pear shaped vs round) that can make a huge difference in your final look.
If offered aftercare, go for it. I think people underestimate how they will feel afterwards. If you have a family member that's in healthcare to look after you, that's great. But the first day, patients need care to avoid pot-surgical blood clots and pain control. I know that I could not have handled it at home. I needed increased meds and the nurses had orders for them to add to my IV. I had some device that massaged my legs to prevent clots. Be good to yourself. You're spending all this money already, this is something I'm glad I did.
Lastly, implants need to be changed out EVERY 10 years. That's something that doesn't seem to be common knowledge. It's for safety reasons because that's the timespan when implants start to degrade and leak. I made a decision to go with fat grafting because I didn't want to under the surgery over and over again. Good luck with your surgery and I hope it's terrific!

Just wanted to comment about the 10 year rule. It’s actually not necessary to change implants every ten years unless you are having a problem. I am three weeks post surgery yesterday and I had my other implants for 22 years. Doctor said they looked like the day he put them in 22 years ago.
