Day 6 Post Op
My surgery took place on 5/18 and I decided on 210cc silicone implants. Pre-op checkin time was at 815 am. I spoke with the anesthesiologist, Dr. Salemy, and the pre/post-op nurse. I was very nervous about going under, but the staff helped me feel calm and safe. When I awoke, I felt nauseous and dizzy. They treated my symptoms and ensured I was safely off the anesthesia before discharging me home for the day. I was out the door by 1030am.
The first two days of recovery were very difficult. I advise who ever your caretaker is to make a organized schedule for your pain meds and muscle relaxers so you do not end up playing “catch up” with your pain like I did. And don’t forget to add extra strength Tylenol to your regimen. Once I got a schedule down the pain was much more manageable. Heating packs for my back also helped.
At my follow up appointment the next day, the nurse removed my compression bandage (which made it so much easier to breathe) and assessed my breasts and incision sites. I am now just in the surgery bra and white compression band to help keep the implants from riding up. I stopped taking the narcotics after day 2 post op and continued to take my muscle relaxer until day 4. Currently it is day 5 post op and I’m still a little sore but am able to be completely independent with tasks. My only concern right now is that I feel more numbness on my right breast, but will follow up with Dr. Salemy tomorrow at my one week post op appointment.
Currently I am absolutely loving how natural my breasts look and am very happy with the results so far! Will post pre and pot pictures once I have them!
I'm so glad you decided to start your review! I wish you all the best on your journey and hope you keep us posted!
