Dr Tholen is simply the best. Not only does he do incredible work, he’s also kind, humble, honest, candid, and down to earth. I had a breast lift with implants on 6/20/19 following massive weight loss (through diet). I’m so happy, and healing beautifully. My brother is trans, and Dr T also did a beautiful job on his top surgery in 2013. He is NOT CHEAP, but so so so worth it. Note: I’m a smoker. I quit for 9 weeks before and 4 weeks after surgery. Dr T’s rules are AT LEAST 2 weeks before and after. I’m very happy I followed this. His staff is also amazing esp his nurse, Crystal. I want to have more work to correct loose skin, and I will ONLY go back to Dr. T.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review, and for mentioning my entire team. Crystal has been with me for over 20 years now, and she indeed amazing! Thanks also for your frankness about costs--I see far too many patients who shop plastic surgeons as if we're all as well-trained, skillful, and thoughtful about our surgical decision-making as the next plastic surgeon. The reality is that ALL plastic surgeons are imperfect, so all the training, hard-learned skills, and careful patient analysis we may or may not have does not ensure perfection. Choosing "cheap" is beyond understanding--if I do a revision on one of my own patients, I do not charge a surgeon's fee, just operating room and anesthesia costs (free if local anesthesia is appropriate). But, if I revise another surgeon's bad outcome, or have to re-do everything, the patient has to pay for an entire new operation. Seems like a fool's savings to go with Dr. Bargain Basement. Just saying . . . and I am a bit defensive, since I know I'm not the most expensive plastic surgeon in my state or region, but I certainly try to be among the best. I have enjoyed having both you and your brother as my patients! Cheers! Dr. Tholen
