I knew I was in good hands from the very beginning. Dr. McCafferty is a true professional with a real keen sense of what his patients want. He walked me through the process, explained every step, went over the risks, and didn't cut any corners. His staff is also very courteous and competent. The surgery center (which is very clean and right next to a major hospital) is in the same building as his office. If you're in or around the Pittsburgh area and looking for a surgeon who does good, clean work, he's your guy. He made the neatest incisions and I was healed up in no time. My quality of life has improved greatly. I honestly couldn't be happier with the results.

Additional Information
-Pre-op bra size: 34C. I used to be a very full 34C, but working out has left them a little deflated.
-Post-op bra size: 34DD at VS 2 weeks post-op. Since the swelling has gone down, I'm closer to a full 34D.
-Implant type: Sientra Opus - smooth round cohesive silicone - 325cc on each side
-Implant placement - Subglandular - My surgeon and I decided this was the best placement for me based on my chest anatomy and lifestyle.

How quickly after the surgery were you able to continue with working out?
There’s not many ppl here with subglandular surgery. I would love to get your insight on how painful was the recovery and how quickly we’re you able to continue with working out.

The recovery itself was not bad at all. I stopped using the prescription pain meds after the second day. The pain kind of felt like an intense burn from a really tough chest workout. Bending over felt weird due to swelling which subsided after about three weeks. In all honesty, the worst part for me was having to sleep propped up on my back. That sucked.

I started light activity (walking, recumbent bike) after about a week. At two weeks, my doctor gave me the green light to work everything except for chest, but to avoid high impact cardio including the elliptical and running. At six weeks, all restrictions were lifted and everything was back to normal.
